I say this tongue in cheek because I think we all feel that way at times...

I have ALWAYS been a klutz and tend to injure myself in the oddest ways. On top of that, my brother always jokes that I'm going to die of some disease that's been obsolete for centuries...like the black plague or something! lol

-This joke started when I got Scarlet Fever at 5. I've tried explaining to him that this isn't obsolete, but he doesn't want to hear it...

-Then I get Lyme Disease at 23. Again, not obsolete but very humorous to my family since they are all avid hikers and campers and I am...well...NOT! lol

-At 29 I have a mild stroke thanks to my dear old friend Lyme...my brother didn't find that nearly as funny...

Anyway, the point of this is that because of the brain damage from both the brain swelling that Lyme has caused and from the stroke...I have a lot of issues with the left side of my body. Most days it's not really noticeable to anyone else, but some days my leg and arm are practically useless to me.

Yesterday was one of those days (mostly for my leg). Which was fine, because as you all know...we sadly get very used to our situations and just keep going. But here's the irony...

It got bad enough towards the end of the night that I broke out an old set of crutches so that I could still get some stuff done around the house. As I'm hobbling around on the crutches, I tried to swing around to close a door and...

I kicked one of the crutch with my good leg and broke my pinky toe.

SERIOUSLY-WHO BREAKS THEIR TOE BY KICKING CRUTCHES??? Could you get any more ironic? lol

Gotta watch out for those crutches--they are evil and will attack you if they get a chance.

Too bad you broke the toe on the good leg. [Smile]

I heard of a guy in college who was an alcoholic, and broke his foot by accidentally dropping a beer keg on it. I guess there are worse ways to injure yourself.

My brother once broke his finger while watching TV. And my grandma broke hers while making the bed.

They always called me "Grace" as a child because I was SO graceful....not!

I think you might have beat me though....

Man, that's rough!! So sorry to hear it!! [shake]

When I was a kid, my mom was trying to cook dinner in our small kitchen and got mad because the cat kept getting underfoot.

you guessed it!

She tried to kick him away and broke her toe on the table leg in the kitchen! OUCH!!

haha My dad always swears that I'm the only person he's ever met who could get hit by a parked car! ;-)

Oh dear.. I shouldn't laugh, but I can't help myself!

[lol]

If it will make you feel better.. you are not alone!

After shutting my right hand in the sliding glass door and before it healed I slammed my entire left elbow, along with my lower and upper arm too, in the same door.

Today I was wondering about why weird things happen to some people. For example....

Who do you know that has ever impaled themselves with a hard crab shell while reaching for a glass in the dishwasher?

If I tried I couldn't figure out how to make this stuff up... but it seems to happen on a regular basis around here.

[lol]
