I feel like if I fall asleep I will die. I hate this disease. My kids are in school and I should be
resting but I am worrying instead. Please tell me this will stop. I have had symptoms since August.
Diagnosed in Sept. On Doxy twice a day 100mg for 6 days and continuing for three more weeks. Seeing a
LLMD first week of Oct. I know I need rest. What do others do?

- Magnesium and fish oil can help calm the overactive NMDA receptors.
Liver support can help reduce toxicity that causes NMDA over excitability. I would avoid all mood altering drugs (unless you are already on one) as they can be very hard on the liver and add to the toxicity and over excitability of nerve tissue.
Adrenal support can also help settle down the exhaustive fight or flight reactions.
Cognitive and talk therapy can help with the emotional, yet understandable fears. Find a LL therapist. Your LLMD will likely have suggestions.
Even if you can't sleep, you must rest. Soft music, closing your eyes in a dark and quiet room are essential.
Be sure to avoid ALL artificial ingredients, especially aspartame and MSG. Google for all their names.
I'm far too tired now to post links but I see you don't see your LLMD for another few weeks.
I'll try to post some links when I can get a bit of energy but I really have to lie down now. Others will surely be along. I'll check back later. -

Anxiety is a symptom of low magnesium. When you go to buy magnesium, look at the list of ingredients.
Don't bother getting the mag oxide. It's cheaper, but it's more difficult to absorb.
i find making lists of small things that need doing and things i want to do then doing them helps me to relax- spending a lot of time at home can make a tiny crack in the ceiling look like a chasm- so getting out of the house helps too- stepping outdoors helps put stuff into perspective-
i try to remind myself that it's the stories i'm telling myself that makes me anxious- so i try to tell myself a happier more relaxing story- all stories are lies of course -- dreams- imaginings filled with expectations and often stress- so if i'm going to lie to myself i might as well allow my imagination to run wild-
but what works best for me is just being in the moment and taking notice of what IS and allowing myself to go with it instead of trying to control it-
but there's always the question, "what IS this?" ...

What does ^ UP for fflutterby" mean? Thanks for all of your help. I broke down and ordered the Source Naturals Ultra-Mag as well as Adrenal support.
I also ordered Milk Thistle, which is in my Liver Support vitamin but I do not think the amount in that is very high.
I am sure I have been overdoing it. I feel great for a couple hours in the AM but I do not rest during the day as it says is crucial in Dr B's recommendations.
I take a 1/2 of an ativan when it gets bad usually around 4PM and then I am a little better. Today I will take it easy and see how that works.
Dr. S had me buy "Rescue Remedy" I tried it yesterday and it helped at first but I had alot going on. I will try again today.....

Once a post falls off of page 1, it often gets lost, as people don't check pages 2 and 3, etc.
You had not responded to your thread, so I bumped it up to the top by posting on it.
Yayy for buying magnesium! When you order from iHerb, be sure to click on "free samples" page, link at top of the page.
I go back and keep adding things to my shopping cart, as I think of them.

I highly recommend L-theanine.

I've heard that L-theanine is good!!
I have trouble sleeping too... day or night. If I'm exhausted I might be able to catch a few Z's during the day.. but usually not.
When I'm ill, I'm usually wide awake. It's so hard to get well when you can't sleep!!
Keeping yeast at bay will also help your sleep... keep a good diet and take good probiotics.
