I have been taking antbiotic for a month and my family doctor says I should be able to go back to work even though I told him all my symptoms are still there and I did not think I could work. I have an appointment with llads doctor but could not get it until Dec 1. I am a programmer/analyst and honestly don't think I am thinking clearly enough to do the job. Just the physical symptoms are bad enough. Please can someone advise? I am scared since I have no other source of income.

is there anyway you can get in sooner with the ilads dr? if your pcp isnt understanding what you're trying to get through to him...
id call and explain the situation..maybe they can help.
sounds like your pcp is like the rest of them..you're cured after 30 days. WRONG.
it's a shame that you can't make your pcp understand what you're going through.
im sure others will have better suggestions. im so sorry you find yourself in this situation.

If that ILADS doctor can't see you sooner (maybe call and tell them the situation and see if they can work you in or fill a cancellation), it might be helpful to call around to see if there is another LLMD available sooner who could get you the initial assessment you need to continue your leave from work. Even if this isn't the doctor you want to see long-term, or they're far away, if you can bring all of your test results and treatment details, maybe they could help you in the short term to extend your leave until you can get in to the doctor of your choice.
I can understand your concern at returning to your job before you feel ready. I could work through a lot of pain, but if you have a job that requires sharp mental abilities, and you know you're not there right now, then returning before you're ready is doing noone a favor and could put future employment in jeopardy. Your family doctor is putting you in a very difficult situation by not taking your concerns seriously. I'm really sorry that is happening to you. I had a similar situation, tried pushing through, and I've regretted it because it damaged my professional reputation.
If you can't get in to see any LLMD, LLND, LLDO - someone credible who understands Lyme disease, do you think being assessed by a mental health professional (preferably one who is Lyme literate) could be helpful?
