Can someone explain coinfections to me? My 17 y/o was diagnosed FINALLY on 11/8 thanks to IGNEX lab. Last December she began what we thought was mono, however our PCP tested her and she was negative but had mono symptoms. August 11,2010 she started with high temps, achiness, headaches w/light sensitivity, nausea. 3 1/2 months later she still has all the symptoms except temps and has lost 15 pounds. Plus she has "brain fog". She has learned to go about her day and deal with symptoms unless she has a bad day where (in her words) she feels like she was thrown against a wall. I'm still trying to find a doctor to treat her. Our PMD placed her on doxy 2xd. Any info anyone can send me is greatly appreciated.

You daughter seems to have all the same symptoms as my son... exactly. Right down to the losing weight, he says he feels as if he has been hit by a tractor trailer, brain fog...
no high temps for quite a while now and he never had the light sesitivity.

Man, he threw up for 2 months straight. The oral antibiotics only seemed to make him more sick to his stomach.

He is on IV antibiotics now... but his LLMD treated him for Babs first.

Did you have the full labs with coinfections done? I would love to know what she has. We never did IGENEX testing.

My dog has the same strain too. I thought she broke her hips. She wouldn't get up to eat (she's only 3 1/2)... took her to the vet and it's lyme. He starts explaining it to me and I told him I know A LOT about it already. My son had been diagnosed 2 months before.

I hope this helps in some way.
