Not feeling too confident after my appt. yesterday.
I was expecting more from a supposedly LLMD that I received through this site. And Lyme is one of his specialties.
He barely examined me which is fine.
Didn't do much talking to me at all.
The appt. was rushed also. Frustrating after waiting 2 months.
He just skimmed my symptom list that I handed to him. Didn't think he really read it.
And he wants to run a CD 57 test and test for Bart & Babs. I was happy about this because I was never tested for these things.
However it's thru Quest and I also don't feel confident testing through Quest.
He also said the WB is a good test and I know it's not always reliable. (I tested negative 3 times)and know many others too!
I asked him will he treat long term even with negative tests but he wouldn't answer the question - just said let's get these tests done and take it from there!
I told him I was clinically diagnosed by another Dr. and he asked me "what do you mean"?
So I had to explain to him was clinically diagnosed means!!
On the flip side he said some of my symtpoms are defintely Lyme related.
And he prescribed Doryx & an anti-inflammatory drug Melaxon (sp) which I am already taking & works good.
Oh and he said 8 weeks is not enough of treatment! I told him I did 3 weeks of Doxy, 2 weeks of Ceftin & 3 weeks of Amox.
I guess only time will tell what's next.
I just hope & pray he treats this long term!

Yes, give it a little time before you decide. Some docs use labs that insurance will pay for first, to help the patient financially. Might follow up with other labs later.
Good sign that he thought your previous treatment was not long enough.
The WB is a good test compared to ELISA. Maybe that is what he meant.

i sent you pm
all llmds have their own style and protocols and at this point i guess thats a good thing since noone really knows how to "cure" lyme
if it was like strep throat-easy cure-it would be different.
