Let me introduce myself. I'm Lucky, and I've had undiagnosed Lyme for 19 years.
I was bit by a tick in 91. I had the EM rash. I thought it was a spider bite.
My best friend has had lyme since 94, and I have held her hand (via telephone) on this journey, through the years of umpteen doctors telling her it was all in her head, and the umpteen negative lyme tests, and the headaches and the heartaches of just getting a diagnosis!
Then the years of treatments and various protocols. I know you all know exactly what I'm talking about.
So we were talking a couple months ago, about lyme as usual, and she was saying her dad had it and got "the rash". She never got "the rash" so we never discussed it before. I googled "lyme rash", and was literally stunned to see a pic of my "spider bite".
"Does that rash mean you got bit by a tick? or does it mean you got bit by a tick with Lyme?" I asked.
"Lyme. Why? Who has one?"
"Me"
"I knew it!!!!" and at that moment, I did, too.
So, I had a Dr.'s appt with the new guy who just took over my old family practitioner's practice. I called his office, and asked "does he know anything about lyme disease?"
"Yes" replied the cheerful voice on the phone.
"He has to say that" I told myself. "We'll see"
So, I go in for my appt, my completed Dr. B lyme quiz in hand, ready to educate the doc on this disease beyond what he was taught in med school.
And guess what........
Not only is he lyme literate....
He was a presenter at the last 2 ILADS conferences.
AND.... HE'S HAD IT!!!!!!! (which means he totally gets it!! YAY!!!!)
This was all 6 weeks ago. I've been on abx and herbs since, and for the most part feel like a 90 year old who has been hit by a cement truck on my bad days, and a 70 year old who has been hit by a moped on most other days.
I know that I have a long and rocky road ahead of me, but I also know that a lyme doc taking over my family doc's practice and being able to diagnose me and treat me is nothing short of a miracle.
I love miracles!!!
I'm hoping for a few more, and I hope you all get your share of miracles, too!

Wow! I want your doctor! What luck. Having a great doctor is 1/2 battle. Having a great attitude is another big part. Seems like you have both! Congratulations!

I've made a post about how coincidences make me stronger. Experiences like this are nearly a sense of affirmation to me too. I won't go into detail have had a few very strange coincidences say the least.
To me, coincidences like these are so strange, it feels as if life is sometimes predetermined.
I no longer am surprised my events like you describe. I no longer feel these are miracles, I just feel they are meant to be.
Anyway, enough of my rambling, and good luck with treatment. It's not easy, and don't expect it to be fast. I had to run into a brick wall a few times until I realized it's not a race.

Congratulations! If you've gotta have Lyme, this is a better scenario than most!

Yes! A miracle diagnosis! Mine was too! Took me 42 yrs to get diagnosed. That was 52 yrs ago.
