Hello Everyone,

With a lot of thinking about this information about Lyme and what to do and not do, I've come down to one thing. God is the great physician! I have many people praying for me.

It's truly out of my hands. I trust Him, not man. This is my test in life. I may have been blessed with it to help others going through it.
Now, I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and help someone who is really struggling.

I'm working on a support group. My prayer is that it comes together well where I can obtain a meeting facility to accommodate people.

Take Care,
HH

HorseHelper,

You say you'd like to find a facility where people of like mind can come together for healing. You might investigate "Healing Circles" or "Prayer Circles" in your area. They are usually interdenominational.

From just a quick search, there are actually many links from a web search for:

HorseHelper,

Sorry, I just reread your post and realize that I had misread it where you said you were praying to START a support group.

I had thought you were looking for a prayer group for support. Dyslexia kicks in sometimes and rearranges sentences in my eyes.

As for starting a lyme support group if there is none in your area . . .

To locate your area LYME SUPPORT GROUPS

If you have no group in your area - see what's going on with those closest to your town, especially throughout your state (and in border towns near you).

Talk to the leaders of other groups around you - and in other states. See how they got set up. Also, you can usually get a meeting room at a hospital for health support groups.

Contact your area medical centers (the hospital type) or those with meeting rooms for patient education. Talk to their community support coordinators and ask who manages the support groups on site.

These groups have a ton of resource links at their sites.

HorseHelper, My faith has always helped me get through the tough times. If it works for you to rely on God, that's great.

Best wishes on starting a support group. Lord knows, lots of people could benefit from one.

Keep your spirits up!

Ideas for meeting place:

How about a physical therapy office or chiropractor's office in the evening? They often have large open areas. (Though maybe not too many chairs...)

Or a local hospital may offer space to various support groups to be a "good neighbor." If your new group was for "Chronic Pain" or "Chronic Illness" you may be able to get a meeting room.

As for places to meet, out lyme support group meets in a retirement home's dining hall. Also, some libraries may have meeting rooms to use, as well as local churches (even if you plan to be nondenominational, most churches are open to that).

Horsehelper, I so relate to what you said. I have driven myself crazy as to what to do and not. Am I dying because I can't take antibiotics? I can't find a LLMD that I can afford or travel to, so I am with you it's all in God's hands. Even though the depression still finds me big time.

Yesterday I had such a "spell" I thought this is it.
Well, I am still here but so weak.

Sending you Prayers...
phyl

phyl- thanks. I hope you have a good day!

daisy- how kind! I've thinking long and hard about this group. It's scares me a little cuz I know days will come when I'm ill and weak and cannot conduct it, and that's my thought on it.

Thx. Star and Remember! Yes, those are good places, I'm keeping them in mind.

Take care everyone.

Ok, got something for ya'll!!

God has a msg. for ya. I just happened to open up the Daily Bread and bam! Here's what it came to...

Poem:
Lord, give me sensitivity
To people in their grief and pain,
To week with them and show Your love
In ways mere words cannot attain!

[bow]

Now for today: Psalm 55:22-
Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you!

Poem:
O Lord, we bring our restless hearts
To you in fervent prayer;
Now help us wait expectantly
While resting in Your Care.

Peace,
HH [group hug]

I'm rethinking the support group. My heart wants to do it so much. I heard there's a lot involved. I, myself, still struggle with energy and fatigue.

Oh, I wish I could help everyone.

Grateful to say that God is the star player on my medical team!

I'm traveling 1200 miles to see my trusted faith healer on Tuesday [Smile] God has used him before to bless me with His miracles. I'm giddy with excitement just thinkin' about it!

Psalm 55:22-
Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you!

I believe!!!

HH, IMO you need to concentrate on getting yourself well before embarking on forming a support group.

Your heart wants to do it so much, but your body and mind know that you need to regain YOUR health before you can help others.

HH,

Don't give up so easily. The key to being a good support group facilitator is knowing your limitations and having others on board with you who can help make up for those limitations.

Pray about this decision and ask God to direct you in this matter... Pr. 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Blessings,

If you do decide to start it now, try to find others who are interested, who can be co-leaders. That way, if one is "down" for a particular night, another can take over. That's what we do at our Support Group (although the main leader is doing better than many these days).

Right on everyone!

I would call it "discussion" group. It's not so formal, ha!

I have a case pending now so a hearing will be set shortly and I've worked hard on it.

I'm glad I do not have a full time job. This is my FT job, learning about Lyme.

Hurtin a little today, guess the doxy may be doin it's job?! Joints and leg pain, wow!

[rant] [Eek!] [Mad]

Have a good day everyone!

HH

Good Morning HH,

I love your play on words "The Great Physician"...wish I'd thought of that one! [bonk] [Wink]

May The Great Physician give you wisdom in starting the support/discussion group.

A good day...oh yeah...and you ALL too!

daisy,
You know, I'm concerned I have to sit back on this right now. Got to get better first. Much stress involved in group, however, I'd rather have it informal and bring to the table what I'm able.

So many don't want to responsiaiblity,

I understand that.

I'm thinking of going to a healing service soon. [Smile]
