I lost one of my 5 brothers this morning. He was 63. He was a truck driver working in the frigid weather in SD when he suffered a heart attack and congestive heart failure last week.
He was released from the hospital earlier this week and all 4 of his sons traveled to escort him and his truck home. He was found unresponsive in his truck's cab bed.
He had been working so hard these last couple of years hauling windmill blades. He was an excellent truck driver.
I'm too devastated to have surgery today. I am calling to postpone.
My brother was a wonderful man. I will miss him dreadfully.

So sorry to here of your brothers passing, take time to grieve, and to rest if you can at all.
Have the surgery, when you feel up to it... this is a hard time,w/ everything happening ,be gentle with yourself.
I believe Creator carries those who are seeking Him. So many times, we cannot seem to feel Him or His presence.
An old poem,' Foot prints in the Sand' I think it is called...says that the times that it is the hardest to feel and find God, we are being carried in His Arms.
Often when I cannot take anymore things happening...I think perhaps it is as tho' I've been 'cocooned' in soft cotton batting,and cradled in the arms of Creator.
Don't know if it makes much sense...but it is how I get thru many times. Praying for You... rest in the Lord... let Him be your strength when there is no more strength in you.

Very sorry to hear about your brother. I lost my sister at the end of October. It's not easy but you will get through it.
My other sister and I talked on the phone every day+ for the first few months and that helped. My brother and I talk almost everyday anyway but we spent time remembering when we were growing up and how kind and wonderful our sister was.
I went through my old e-mails from her and to her and that gave me some comfort. I used flower essences which can be very useful to move the healing process along. Also helpful if you feel overwhelmed with grief.
It is a process that will take time. I try to pace myself so as not to experience the grief all at once but of course everyone has different needs.

Lymelady, I am so sorry to hear about your brother. I wish I had words of comfort or could do something to help you through this.
I lost my brother years ago in a accident, time heals but you never forget.

Oh no. I'm so very sorry, lymelady! I saw you on the board earlier and wondered why you were here and not in surgery. How very very sad.
He MUST have been an excellent driver to be able to transport those windmill blades! I've seen those trucks! Amazing. You would really have to know what you're doing.
I would be at such a loss to lose either of my brothers. Just the thought makes me sad.

63 is too young. I lost a sister at 30 and my other sister at 71. I know what you are feeling.
Remember the laughs and good times. They will always be in your heart. The tears will fade but the happy times will always be remembered and bring a smile to your face.
Cherish your other brothers.

Please everyone keep lymelady in your prayers.
She has already been through so much with her dear son as many of you know.
And as many of you know, she was also extremely ill a couple of months back and was hospitalized.
Because of her brother's passing, she had to postpone a much-needed surgical procedure.
Please pray that she is able to get through this difficult time and somehow manages to take care of herself.
