So I've been hearing about how people are having their root canals removed. I don't understand why?? Shouldn't they be fine as long as they weren't done with any silver fillings?

Also, when you guys say having the root canal removed, do you mean like a complete extraction of the tooth?

It all just kind of clicked in my head this morning that I have 3 root canals, is this a problem? I haven't ever had any silver filling at all, all porcelain.

I really really don't want to have to pull 3 teeth! I am already naturally missing one, another one had to be pulled, and 3 more teeth?? I can't afford to loose all my teeth by the age of 21!!

They can harbor infections. Do a search here (in Medical) for past discussions.

I've had all seven of mine pulled over the past year. I had bone cavitations under every single one of them as well as a fistula that had to be removed.

Lots of surgery, no fun but necessary.

did it help at all linky?

Yes, it did help. I have lots of collateral damage from 20+ years of undiagnosed lyme. I am in remission from that, but still had joint pain, fatigue, my gallbladder was messed up, and headaches.

Much of that has resolved since having the dental surgery. You might google the tooth meridian chart and see what effects dental problems can have on the body.

A healthy person, with a good immune system can live with a root canal or maybe a couple without problems. Once you get a mouth full of them and a messed up immune system the body can't handle it.

Infected root canals form a bacteria that is very similar to lyme.

Most regular dentists won't acknowledge that root canals can become infected and cause so many problems.

You need a biological dentist. I also went to a homeopath/md that uses EDS to find the problem areas in the body. The main problem he found among others, was the dental infections.

You should have seen some of the stuff they dug out of my jawbones. It looked like cauliflower.

They are just dead. Nice place for bacteria to hang out.

O.M.G.
I have *8* root canals in my mouth.
I am about to go have 5 crowns put on those teeth at the end of this month.

I wish I read this before...I woud have just had them remove all the teeth. My dentist said it was a bad idea at the time...and I thought the alternative of having to get implants would be horrible for my immune system. He said I was too young for dentures bc the jaw bone would start to deteriorate from lack of anything in it causing my face to cave in (all of my back teeth are either root canaled or removed) They did remove 4 of the worst teeth, then root canaled the rest.

UGH!!!

raw vegan, I think they were just trying to scare you so you would do what they wanted.

My Dad lost his teeth at a young age and he hasn't had any problems. Oy! People will say anything to make a buck!
