i did that backwards. son news is good-biopsy was negative for cancer. he is on abx for another 2 months
puppy news is bad. and i am very sad but doing my best. she was very bad again for another very experienced groomer. the one the trainer sent me to.
groomer says it is not normal puppy behavior and will talk to trainer.
etta is exhausted now. all they did was a bath and a little around her eyes and her butt.
she has been sweet to me as usual. it is only when she wants something she really can't have that the behavior pops up.
i offered to give her to my daughter-in-law who is young, smart, competent and very knowledgeabe about dogs - but she has 2 already and i think 3 might be too much. they both work alot and will be moving soon.
i would also give her to the trainer or the vet who loves her..but i'd be afraid to give her to just anyone.
so i feel very sad. but i have to do the smart thing. if this is not fixable i really cannot keep her. it would be dangerous.
you can see pics of etta on facebook if you search "All seasons pet resort" in freehold nj she is in the frame about 2-3 to the right. when you click it there are more pics. she is mostly white with tan and black. long hair. shih tzu looking. she is only 5 lbs-but looks bigger in the pics. she played well with a schnauzer, havanese and doxie yesterday

Certainly good news about your son. Cancer is something no one ever wants to hear.

VERY sad to hear about Etta. What a shame. I hope you can find a good home for her if you feel things are not going to work out.
Is there any chance she will calm down as she gets older??

i won't make a quick decision unless it is to my daughter-in-law
i have already paid for her spay and she can't get it til middle of may
she has only been bad to me 3 times in 3 months
but it is the way she is bad that has the experienced ppl saying this is not right...
i'm deferring to them since i just am not the strong-know-it-all supermom person i used to be
nothing will happen fast. she and i are having a good afternoon. shes going back to daycare tomorrow and its supposed to be nice so she can run in that big area

i know-i have seen him work with chiwawas---i have no idea how to sp that and i can't blame it on the lyme..
they (chis) can get really nasty the me way etta does. i have heard about dogs protecting their owners that way but also deciding they will not let the owner on the bed if the dog decides it is now his bed...
etta and i had a good evening and a good morning. i will take her to daycare this afternoon.
the trainer is going to talk to the groomer and then we will mae a plan
i also had a thought that maybe the behavior will go away when she gets spayed next month??? i'm willing to wait and see if that happens. i want so much to work this out---but there are limits

I think Caesar is on Animal Planet also.

Ipkayak...read my post on your puppy problem question.
Don't do anything drastic without first trying the Direct Stop which I wrote about. Honestly in a lifetime of dealing with different dogs in both my business and personal rescue dogs, no trainer or behaviorist worked better than the Direct Stop Deterant as long as I was totally consistant.
Don't give up on the pup yet!

exercise, and not getting too overstimulated. I
am really hoping the same will happen for your
Etta. Glad we are taking our time with this and
maybe we'll get answers to help correct the
behaviors. Anything new I find, I'll send on to you.
