I looked through previous posts, but couldnt find anything similar, so maybe Im just a bit slower then everyone else
I want to know how to go about making a claim to get at least partial coverage of my LLMD bills. I tried calling several times to get the information, but I just get the run around of different numbers to call and that my Dr.'s office should be handling it, etc.
So if anyone could clear this up for me, that would be really, really helpful. Thanks

I thought it was handled at the dr's office too. They either take Medicaid or they don't. Most don't. I thought if you had a card you would give it to them when you go there??

up for help

You can't do it yourself - the doctor's office needs to handle it, since they are the medical provider who's contracted with them.

Well my dr.'s office doesn't take insurance but they give us an itemized bill to send to our insurance companies. They say it's worth a shot.
I thought that if you didn't have any doctors in your plan that treat your illness, then you were able to try and see if you could get reimbursed.
I know the chances are probably slim, but even if the answer is no, I'd like to have the papers on record in case something ever happens legally for our side of things...

I think you have to call the number on your Medicaid card for instructions.

Take your medical bills into your case worker, they may be able to help. I'm trying to figure out what I am going to do as well. I am just getting started in trying to get into a doctor. Trying to figure out the financial end first. I have no way of paying the bills. I am on medicaid.
I thought I was going to be ok, because one of the LLMD's were listed as accepting my insurance, but as of 2011 they stopped. So back to sqaure one. ((

Yeah, it is really hard. pretty much all of my disability money goes to my doctor bills and my supplements. I dont know that I have a case worker or who it is, but Ill look into it. Is this something you've done?

I'm in the process, yes. I was able to find a llmd that took my medicaid plan. But, found out that there are certain medicaid plans that will reimburse for dr appointments and some that flat out won't.
Yes I have contacted my case worker. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to help with travel expences... and which plan might reimburse for dr appts...
In case the current llmd doesn't work out and I need to see the other one in my state that doesn't take insurance.
I'm looking into disability at this point.... I'm not on it, I'd be curious if you got on it because of lyme or lyme symptom or something different?

If you want to get reimbursed for your mileage there is a form you take to ypur dr to sign and you can send it into to get paid for you mileage, meals and motels if you have one. I think they may have changed the way it is handled though and I heard that you have to let them know you are going first or you won't get paid. It's probably different in every state.
