As you may know I have been fighting babesia duncani which caused a pretty miserable depression, no stamina, no motivation - just a dead feeling.
Things are so much better. Although I am not well, I am making goals and doing things - enjoying life mor.
I took my horse to a schooling show today and it was so much fun. Not because we won anything (we didn't) but he was a complete love and in my opinion he was the most wonderful horse there - just perfect.
I am so happy. It feels good to be able to appreciate things. I also took a trail ride yesterday. The trees were leafing out and the wild flowers were starting to bloom.
My husband and I have a joke - We say "this is the perfect time of year. . . . " and go on to say what makes it good like no flies when it is 20 below zero.
So this was one of those perfect days of my life. My horse did not win anything but he was perfectly wonderful.

Beating babesia is MAJOR! Hope life continues to get better and better!! Posted by nefferdun (Member # 20157) on :
Thanks you guys. I can't get TOO optimistic as I sure do have ups and downs but it feels so good to enjoy life.
I had a lesson on my horse today and then did some gardening. A couple of months ago I could not do anything. I would vacuum a bit and then sit down to rest.
I do breath hard if I exert myself though, and I was up several times in the night with hot flashes. But being able to think more clearly and enjoy myself is great. Have to look at the glass half full rather than half empty.

Good to hear someone is actually beating the babesia beast.
Hubby just got back his weekly bloodwork which shows the new round of quinine and clindamycin is still killing off red blood cells. And the low grade fevers are back so he is still in the fight.

I hope you husband is getting better seibert. It is has been such a struggle for both of you. He has had his ups and downs.
I don't dare say I have this beat - that is for sure. But I am feeling better. I don't know why it strengthens and weakens the way it does. It is a roller coaster ride and I am on one of the UP swings. I continue to have hot flashes and not much stamina but I can do things.
It was a cold windy day but I did ride again. I am trying to get my gardens under control - There are lots of flowers which I love. Seems crazy but before I could not appreciate anything. Now I see the flowers opening and it feels like a gift just for me.
I hope all of you are doing ok.
