A memorial service will be held at the U.S. Air Force Academy in the near future for Dr. William Tarver Harvey, 73, of San Antonio, Texas and native of Liberty. Dr. Harvey passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011, of a heart attack in San Antonio.
Dr. Harvey was the son of Cordelia Williams and Thomas Elijah ``E.T.'' Harvey, both deceased. Dr. Harvey earned his undergraduate degree and wings at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Soon after, he became a physician, earning his M.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University. He spent much of his career with NASA, focusing on the medical challenges to humans in space.
A seasonal traveler, in his time he saw the entire world. After retirement, he embarked on another career - researching formerly unknown infectious diseases. His achievements gained him a listing in Who's Who in America, among other honors.
In addition to his parents, Dr. Harvey was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia; and his brother, Thomas E. Jr. Dr. Harvey leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Pat Dotson Harvey of San Antonio; a nephew, Thomas Elijah Harvey III; an aunt, Mary Alice Harvey of Liberty; and numerous cousins.

Wow I hope someone else is being guided into the path this Dr Harvey was chosen to take. I hope and pray 15 new LLMDs decide this week they must research and understand this thing called lyme & co.
Many doctors could go there. I wonder if their insurance premiums are higher than the average GP would pay for mal-practice insurance?
I would think IDs or specialists are higher risk than GP? Surgeons being even higher?
Thank Dr Harvey for understanding and giving in our world. Please guide some angels our way... Doctors with degrees that want to enter the hard field of lyme & co.

He treated my cousin. She is doing well today. A few residual problems, but highly functioning, thank God.

Dr H treated me and gave me hope at a time when neurologists at Duke were just going to watch me waste away from 'ALS'.
He was a kind soul, intelligent and respectful. I appreciate all he did for me.
