Insurance paying for IGeneX testing...

Read a post somewhere that insurance companies may pay for IGeneX tests because they specialize in Lyme, etc. and regular labs usually don't.

Can anyone expand on this and give info on how to do it?

I pay for two, separate health insurance policies and hate to think I have to go all cash after not working for a year. TY

They accept Medicare, and other ones evidently the patient has to handle. There is a new program called LymeTAP which will make possible a 75% discount for those qualifying as low income - see www.lymetap.com -

I just took the receipt and submit a claim through my insurance and they reimbursed the amount allowed for out of network Lab. Just ask Igenex for the super bill and receipt after you paid.

I got my insurance to pay 80%. It took me nine months of hounding them before they would reimburse me...but it was worth the effort!! I won!!! [Big Grin]
