Got a big hug today. 2007 I went in an office and said: you have mold and need to move.
They did not understand anything. But the boss was ordering a mold testing. He was very sick, had surgery of esophagus at Hopkins and could not speak for half a year. Also needed new knees and always was tired at 4pm. He got a bold spot on his head.
The staff said they have no problem with mold at all, they are not sensitive.
8 - 12 weeks after the move each person came and said they had mold problems because now health changed to the better. They just did not think that so many different things could be from mold.
It was a totally different health issue for everybody.
They said they will never forget and are extreme thankful that I gave them this information.

Yaaaaayyyyy!!!
It is so rewarding when our observations actually change lives, instead of falling on deaf ears.
Big pat on the back for you!

Way to go Karen. What positive things we can do with our education and reseach on this stuff?
It is limitless how we can make a difference in others health and well being.
I'm truly thinking all our blessings and prayers are being answered slowly but surely by this site.

And another person with ALS symptoms wrote me that they did a mold testing of the house. Results are not yet in. I guess it is chaetomium.

Wow Karen, you made a huge difference in their lives. Most don't even know how bad it could have gotten. So glad you were able to help all those people, great job!

Where did they order the mold testing from? I'd like to have that test done, very interesting. Posted by karenl (Member # 17753) on :
I did not ask which company. But I think they spent a lot of money on testing. They had no idea what mold is and needed to get educated and learn first.
On [email protected] you can find info what people buy at the moment. Post your question and $ limit.
I had a houstesting mold company in and paid 675.00. I had one test main return, one bathroom, one bedroom and a visual and the infrared camera on all drywalls. You do not need an outside air test to compare - as you do not want to live outside. Outside is irrelevant and comparing makes no sense.
Home Depot also sells some dish but it is not so helpful.

I had black mold from a broken pipe in the ceiling in my shower.
I knew my health had taken a turn for the worse.
But, had not connected it to the black mold until after they fixed it.
I had reported a problem.
They ended up getting a new maintenance man during this time.
I really though it was not a problem as I could only see a few spots of mold in the ceiling.
Wrong.
I also wonder if all of us who came down sick at work were exposed to mold. I know that the pipes for the toilet were in the walls and they leaked out into the classroom.
And there was a book case in front of the wall so assuming there was mold behind the book case.
This was 10 years ago. The others who were given CALPERS Disability are doing so much better than I am.
I also lived in a house were there was mold 11 years ago. A new home. I cleaned the mold from the wall.
Never put two and two together until my health really went south.
But, I would get really sick.
I did think there was something with the stairway and started driving in the garage and instead of using the stair way up to the house went around the block and tried going through the front door...but stairs wore me out getting to the front door too.
Bottom line is once you are no longer in the area with mold does it stick with you.
I have yet to recover my health.

Have you been treated? You need a good mold doctor to recover. In which state are you? I know only three but you can ask on [email protected].
