Just purchased some almond milk so I could have some things with milk like cereal etc. Never had it before..
Anyone drink or use it, if so can you use it to cook with, like you would regular milk?
This gluten, sugar, dairy free diet is expensive and I so wonder if it is worth it.
I cheated last night and had 2 slices of pizza.. and actually slept better.
Tks.

I don't use almond milk myself. I did use rice milk in the past and it doesn't act like milk in that it won't thicken without help.
A comment about the sleep, though... when I went gluten free I found that I had started increasing the amount of potato in my diet because it's a common substitution in many of the gluten free products. Potatoes give me insomnia. If you do find you have a problem with potatoes, too, watch out for the ingredient "vitamin A palmitate" as it's potato based and added to a LOT of foods - including all of the almond milks I've looked at.

I like almond milk. I cant even sip cows milk the thought of it makes me ill-
the only thing is it does have a good amount of sugar as far as I know. It makes my blood sugar go crazy. i think there is an unsweetened version but I havent tried it yet.
I dont cook with it, heck I dont really cook at all anymore

oh, darn forgot about the sugar, but I drink or use very little milk ..
I don't feel up to cooking and it is so hard to eat right when you aren't up to shopping and cooking.
Have often thought what if I just eat a little of anything I want, that seems to work better for me, I think ..
When I am having my often bad days I ask is it the medicine, what I have eaten or what I have smelled. So sick and tired of all this.

The unsweetened vanilla almond milk is good on cereal. It also works well to make oatmeal creamier. I like the "Pacific" brand the best.

We use the unsweetened vanilla as well. I like it. Never cooked with it though.

Trader Joe's has a good almond milk, both sweetened and unsweetened. I use it to make smoothies.

I love almond milk I drink it with cereal or mix it into a smoothie. I've never tried cooking with it, though...
