saw LLMD today. diagnosed with Babesia, Bartonella, and Lyme. Md said I've very likely had this since childhood (I'm 40 now!) Wow, if I had know back then? All the years of pain & agony it would have saved. Being told as child I needed more sleep than most kids... Being told as a teen I was anorexic (when I ate like a horse! but was just fatigued & anemic)... Being embarrassed in my 20's because I couldn't keep up like other mom's... Being told when I was 30 that I had CFS, I was going to be sick a long time & there was nothing they could do! ... Being unable to hold my children... Being unable to get out of bed... Being unable to be the mom, wife & woman God created me to be... Being told at 40 that a 'good psychiatrist might do me some good.'

mixed emotions! I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, this is not what I was looking/searching for... but I was desperate for this diagnosis. I know I have a long road ahead of me. BUT... Now, I found the FINAL missing piece to this incredibly difficult puzzle of debilitating health issues. Now, there's a reason for my sufferings. Now there's something more we can DO! Now, I CAN & WILL get my health and my LIFE back! Thank you Jesus!

angelaw, my story is almost the same as yours. It's amazing what we have to go through to try and be "normal" isn't it? I had my first LLMD appointment last Tuesday and started treatment that day.

I have to say I have been dreading the herx, it hasn't hit yet. Just some mild things, but I don't know if it's herx stuff or just the usual.

Have you started treatment? How is it going? I am on Tetracycline and Diflucan.

Take care...

you might want to buy these books.

10 most common lyme treatments (sorry don't have author)
stephen buhner's book on lyme and Dr. S's book on lyme.

can't remember titles right now but Dr. S's book is very good. buhner's is about an herbal approach.

** edited to remove doctor's name **

Lymetoo, you said you had Lyme most of your life too. How old were you when finally diagnosed (Im sure it was a difficult, long, puzzling road like mine)? How long after you started treatments until you considered yourself 'well?' My LLMD wouldn't really answer the question of "how long." I do understand. I know I may have a long road ahead of me yet. Just want to prepare myself and be informed. Hoping/praying for the best and still so incredibly thankful for a DX and a plan! =D

Mom2kids, I was already prescribed 3 abx (doxcy, amoxic. and probenecid). I havent started taking them yet, however. My LLMD wants to do the IGENX urine test to see what types of 'bugs' come out after they start dying off. I've ordered the test, but I'm waiting for it to come before I start them (have to collect the urine 4, 5, & 6 days after starting... so don't want to start them and then the test comes too late.) honestly, Im very fearful of both the herx and the side effects from the abx themselves. I already have GI issues (garstroparesis, SIBO, and diverticulosis, along with Hashimoto's, on top of the tick bacteria issues) and don't want to make myself sicker. You say you haven't herxed yet? Please keep me informed as to how it's going?

Randibear~ thanks for the book recommendations!! I have the book 'Beating Lyme" by bears(I think?) but havent read much of it yet. I'm trying to educate myself as much as possible so I can understand what I have, prepare myself for the road ahead, and do everything possible to get better. I've even decided, this week, to live/eat as organic, non~toxic, not GMO, gluten free as possible. I figure if I can free up by body from working on the 'ish' going in, it can be freer to better work on the tick bacteria's that have been invading by body for so, so long (and are starting to take over.) So, the book by buhner interests me (I'll still take those abx!!!!... but maybe there are alternative things I can do alongside those to speed up / help facilitate my recovery.) =D

Angelaw, I'm on day #13 and not sure if I maybe, might be in a kind of herx or just in a flare. My throat, neck and shoulders feel like somebody tried to strangle me, temp is running around 100*-101*, I am sleeping more than usual and hurting more. Nothing that screams "HERX" like I have read about though.

My LLMD didn't run any tests and I don't think even mention running any. I am on tetracycline and only threw up 2x when I first started it. Now the only problem I can see is it has slowed my system down, not totally constipated, but really slow.

Keep in touch with your progress, you can PM me if you want.

It's amazing there is a controversy to this insidious disease and I've found it easiest to show a couple of u tube video's on the controversy.
