2 days ago I had my boys tested for lyme. They

show no symptoms, however they have each been

bitten one time (that I know of) . The bite

occured 2 years ago for my 5 year old and 1 year

ago for my 3 year old. My 5 yearold was treated

with abx for 2 weeks. My 3 year old was not. Tis

all happened before I I had any knowledge of

what this all really is. Anyway, so I decided

to get them tested. The pediatrician thinks I am

being paranoid, but he wrote the rx for it. They

just called and said they are both negative

(ELISA)...lab corp [Frown] I asked for them to do

the western blot but they said no, not unless

the elisa was positive. Im not sure what to do

next. It's not like either of them are ill, I

am just worried... and maybe paranoid. any

advice is appreciated. thx.

I don't know why you would test them if they don't have symptoms.

[confused]

I know nothing about you so I'm not judging, wouldn't anyways.

As mothers we follow our gut. If that's what your gut was telling you, then you did the right thing. Later on down the line, maybe you'll have a reason. Maybe it's just for peace of mind. Who knows. It's okay to be paranoid every now and then.

If, and that's a big IF, they become symptomatic later on, you'll know what to do.

A couple of things I've learned on these boards that I'll always do with my kids, even when they get off ABX and are deemed "cured", is keep the probiotics, Vitamin D and Multi's going. A strong immune system is always a good thing.
