I started my IV's twice a day and am fighting nausea.
Does anyone have a good recipe for ginger cookies. That is what I am craving. I bought some at the health food store, but they have lots of sugar....
Thanks!

- I hope someone comes along with a gluten free ginger cookie recipe but in all the medical abstracts I've read about Ginger and nausea, they all state that the capsule are much more effective than even ginger tea.
The therapeutic dose for ginger is really much higher to work the best than anyone can drink. Also, it's important when using the capsules, to keep the dose going on a regular time schedule. But too close to bedtime and some find it too stimulating.
For gluten-free cookies, Pamela's makes marvelous ones but - as you mentioned - loaded with sugar.
For now, you could mix up about 1/4 tsp. of ginger from your spice jar, mix with a little water to make a paste. Add just a touch of stevia (and maybe - maybe - just a touch of honey to help soothe the tissue on the way down.)
Slippery Elm mixed as a paste in with the Ginger powder and then add hot water for nice tea will also give it some more body and the slippery elm can help coat the stomach, soothing it.
I might scout the web as I'd like to make some ginger cookies for thanksgiving.
For now, I'll start with a search for:
"gluten-free ginger snaps recipe"
but I'm mighty slow to follow through so if in a hurry, that search phrase seems to have several possible options.
If you have Quinoa FLAKES, you can make a nice Ginger drink or gruel with that. Add a drop of stevia. It's a bit unusual but it works to settle the stomach with some good nutrients that won't crash blood sugar levels. -

- Can you eat oats?
Can you eat eggs?
I'm thinking more of using quinoa, lentil flours for the body but if you can eat oats, that might also provide some body.
Quinoa flour, alone, will fall apart.
What flours (or GF baking mixes) might you have on hand?
Do you have any Xanthan Gum, Guar Gum? Or Tapioca flour? Any of those help to bind non-gluten flours. -

- Can you send someone out for a Lara Bar? As I recall, these might be a little spicy hot (but, then, so are most ginger cookies).
Not sure about the dates. Technically, they are a berry. There are some reports of dates having antifungal properties. (Really, I have never seen a moldy date in my life. They do seem to keep forever.)
Some people can "do" some fruits while others can't. But, just looking at the recipe, you could take all the same spices and put in oatmeal, too.
Comforting to heart and soul - just like the ginger snaps you grew up on. Famous as a natural stomach soother, ginger has also been used to treat inflammation and high blood pressure.
Adding to the health benefits are pecans (loaded with essential unsaturated polyunsaturated fats), as well as Vitamin E, Calcium, Magnesium and Oleic Acid, a healthy staple also found in olive oil.
