Hello Lyme buddies! Remember in Under Our Skin the awful herxing that Mandy went through when treated for Lyme? Well, I went through a very similar experience on oral abx about six years ago. I was convinced that if I continued taking abx I would die. As soon as I stopped taking the abx I started to feel better. All of my symptoms (including my original Lyme symptoms) disappeared. The only remaining problem is that I still can't walk. I have feeling in my legs and feet. Left leg is much weaker than right. I am currently under the care of a nutritionist and chiropractor who specializes in upper cervical procedures. Since seeing Mandy on UOS I always have the nagging question: should I have continued with the abx even though I was probably a few days away from a nursing home? Or was I so overloaded with neurotoxins that nothing would have helped? I'd be very interested in your opinions. Thanks so much!

Do what your body tells you to do. Always.
Many times I thought I was going to die (before we even knew what a herx was). I ended up in the hospital many many times because I didn't know better (no one did back then), and when to say enough is enough.
I was also desperate to be "cured" so I toughed it out. BAD IDEA!
Due to my new knowledge, the fact herxes have killed people and I can not get rid of toxins like others do (genetics), I know now I could have died.
So, always know when to say enough. It doesn't make you a sissy baby to admit you are just too sick to go forward.
In fact, treatment shouldn't be worse than the disease. Life's too short to suffer like that and in my opinion...
The "burn" from the herxes may destroy as much or more than the disease itself.

You could have backed off the meds and then restarted them when you felt better. No sense in overkill.

Lord I'm sorry to here the neuro? issues haven't resolved. It's silly to ask but have you gotten the MRI/CT etc. to see what else might be happening...
I'm new here ,although I type and spell like crap, I post or respond a lot.. Mostly because of wonderful people and info we get here. Usually in the middle of night cause I'm not functioning well other times.
A while ago a women posted about not everything being Ly-Co's.. She had a heart issue, every time she got to a DR. They said it's nothing .
Then I think the 3rd cardiologist new a bit about Lyme and issue blood going in thick from right side and out left with not enough oxygen. He did fix this issue. Wish I could remember what it's called. I wanted to ask about it.
Have you seen a GOOD LLMD lately? Just to check. My prayers go out to you as I try to type.
