I recall another thread about this in the past year.

I looked over it and came to some conclusions but can't recall other than thinking he had some things correct but others not quite (in my view). I think my concern was around the follow up and certain assumptions.

You might search the archives but I'd have no idea on where to begin with the key search words.

There was a discussion just a couple of weeks ago about this book. I am reading it right now so I don't have any opinion on it yet. I'll let you know when I am done.

Ok, maybe it was a couple of months ago, but here it is. I hope I did it right, if not just search Burton Waisbren...

Thanks so much for finding that other thread. Yes, now I remember.

It is sure remarkable to find someone of his stature to speak to chronic lyme.

When looking over it and his site, etc., I do recall having some questions about the length or combinations of treatment (or maybe for all other tick-borne infections, too?) but I'd need to book to really be able to know more.

Please do share your thoughts after reading it.

Scroll down to see the author's essays on chronic lyme from his website

B. Chronic Lyme

Excerpt from the "Management" section:

http://www.waisbrenclinic.com/chronic-lyme-disease.html

. . . Has our approach ``proved'' that chronic Lyme disease exists or we have helped patients with it?

No, but if we and some of our patients had not thought that this approach has helped them we would not be including it in this website. . . .

----------- and his words on:

D. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia at

http://www.waisbrenclinic.com/chronic-fatigue.html

Excerpt:

. . . Some patients we have seen ``who hurt all over'' may well suffer from Somatization syndrome, which is described as severe generalized pain without known organic cause.

One help in coming to this diagnosis is that these patients pain breaks out of the boundaries so characteristic of fibromyalgia.

We have tried but have not helped patients of this type. . . .

--------------------------------------

Big Sigh regarding the CFS / FM page. I wonder if he relies on the typical inferior lyme tests to dx lyme.

And I wonder if other tick-borne and/or other chronic stealth infections such as Cpn, mycoplasmas, HHV-6 are considered - or heavy metals and adrenal dysfunction?

Wonder if he considers the range of porphyria abnormalities that can cause tremendous pain?
