This is hypothetical. But I often dream If I were made well, I would like to join the Peace Corps for one year , then spend another year working in a third world country orphanage . I would love to mother children who have no parent . Think of the difference that could be made .

That would be my dream .

How about you ? What would you do ina healthy body ?

I think each of us has a story and a testimony to share with others who are not familiar with this illness.

My dream would be to go on a mission trip with my church and take a loooong warm vacation with my loving husband.

Ride my bike across the country or hike the Appalachain trail with my younger son. To be able to ride my horse again.

To dream...I am well:)

I've given this much thought over years of being homebound and alone even for holidays due to severe sound and vision dysfunctions and distortions (that trigger seizures).

Of course, it would feel great to be able to go for a simple walk. To be with others.

I want to be able to enjoy a nice meal with loved ones. And also be able to listen and talk.

It would be nice to be able to listen to the radio again and go to a concert.

Once I really have my balance and endurance back,

I want to take an extended RIVER CRUISE all through Europe with stops at all the mineral healing pools - listen to live music - see art - and really get to know the different cuisines and customs.

Then, I'd get to work becoming a Philanthropist. That's the very best job in the world, I think. Just think of being able to influence change in positive ways.

I'd start with water and food for everyone. There is no reason so many go without water or without food. No good reason, anyway.

I'm sure the irony involved in my wanting to be a Philanthropist will escape no one: one must have enough to share. But, we are dreaming. And I do think there are enough resources to go around if we can all just shift our focus a bit.

Still, energy, endurance, brain focus . . . it's true if one has health, that is their greatest wealth as then so much more is possible.

So, in my best Eliza Doolittle voice: "Wouldn't that be Loverly !"

You guys are very kind and thoughtful. I think being sick makes you much more compassionate.

I hope someday I am well. I think that would be enough.

We are assuming that I am completely healed correct?

If that is true, I would get a great job and go back to work full time. Crazy as it sounds, I miss working. I enjoyed what I did.

I would also consider seeking a higher degree as that was interrupted when I got too sick to continue.

I would like to travel the world again volunteering in medical missions or something similar [Smile] These were some of my best, most life changing experiences. Wish I could live my life helping and serving others. That would make me most happy.

Mine are simple, at first at least. Walk up the street, drive a car, go to a movie w/popcorn, and go shopping. Then I would like to join Keebler on her Europien trip.

Oh yeah, and eat anything I want!

I'm not totally well, only about 75 to 80 percent, however started a lyme support group. Really felt led to give back to the lyme community. There was a time that I believed this would kill me, and many people stepped in to help me, many off this board.
So it's my turn, our group is off and running and growing every month.

Congrats, Rene - you are on the road to wellness. You are supporting others and that will give you inner strength - cause that is a big part of getting well.

OK - I know I'm coming from a different perspective but annxyz, I was in your shoes, not to long ago.

Flutterby - I took all those drugs. I felt and believed I was chronically sick, at that time. The drugs didn't work for me.

That is why I always searched for new therapies that others were doing and seeing what worked for them.

I was sure that someday I would be out of a chronic state, I just didn't know what doctor or therapy would be right for me.

I worked part time all through my worst years. I teach private music lessons from my home. I refused to cancel lessons. I literally taught some lessons while lying down!

It took several therapies and a doctor who changed the way I thought about myself to get me on the road to wellness.

I have been in remission twice. When your sensitive, like we are, you can pick things up easily.

Everyday I do exercises and visualization to improve my immune system.

I am convinced that chronic disease is a multi-layer dysfunction in your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual being.

In Dec.,I just hiked 4 miles on the Appalachian Trail. I believe that we are all capable of good health. You have to believe it!

You have to find the right therapies and doctor that resonate with you. You may have to travel to a different state. ( I do).

Your life is in your hands. ( I know this is hard to believe but when I started to believe this, that's when I got better.)

I will be talking about more therapies on my blog:

http://healerdealerdiary.blogspot.com/

This is my way of giving back. I've been fortunate enough to find true healers on my life's journey.

You have the power to get yourself well - no doctor or therapy alone will do this - you just have to believe it.
