After long waiting and a prison sentence of 3 months, our newly adopted family member has come home. He was picked up for loitering in public and was put in jail. We had to sign a contract agreement to get him released and pay a fee, plus a doctor bill!!
He's settled into his new surroundings well, taking a siesta, exploring the farm. It's only been one day and he has adapted to freedom, though we must keep an eye on him not to wander too far.

Thank you, WendyK. He's truly relishing in his freedom. Scraping his paws across the grass, rolling around, peeing on everything. Now, he's laying at my feet trying to go to sleep. He'll soon transition into being a mostly outdoor dog.
I must say, I feel very satisfied having taken this little guy!

We rescued our cat from "prison". And rescued another cat that was homeless.
Animals are the greatest friends.

We have a dog and 2 cats that are rescues...they are the best cause somehow they know you are their savior....or I should say they are ours. Whenever its a bad day one or all will come to see me...
And they will never judge us...

We have a "pound puppy", also on parole, who turned her nose up at dry food too. We put a little water on it and she seems to like it better.
I wondered how a dog with her background (abused)could be so fussy!

As Lymetoo said, he'll eat dry food if he gets hungry enough. Better for his teeth unless you plan on brushing them every day. I learned that the hard way with a small breed dog.

He finally broke down and ate the dry dog food this morning. Now he's going to have to spend more time outside with Blue (a Blue Lacey). He already stinks from going in and out and we can't give him a bath for a week due to his stitches.
He jumps on our bed- a no-no - and runs in circles. He's accustomed to the cat now, but Buster hisses at him and puffs up. Ole Otis is fitting in just fine.

They have at the pet supply stores a dry bath powderr and also wet pads to wipe him...
That can help with the smell....we used it on our dog when she had surgery till i could bathe her..

I got him some spray on shampoo and the little rascal wiggled and ran from me. He is also a fence climber which probably explains why he was picked up by animal control in the first place. I got a little enclosure exercise pen for him about 3 feet tall....
He leaps high enough to hook his paws over the top and just climbs right out!! He chased the car on the way to church this morning so I went back home in fear he would get hurt. We're gonna have to rig up some kind of fencing for him when we are gone since we are trying to transition him to be more of an outside dog, like Blue.
