Wondering if ALL group health and DENTAL plans work like this.
Gal telling me info seemed so unsure and tenative
She said you cant drop dental insurance except for open enrollment period in October,,,,,result is I pay all those months with no hope of claim/benefit
Are all groups that way or just this crappy plan I belong to???? Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
That's weird. Which company? Most plans are health only ( I thought )... so I'm not familiar with this.
How much would you save by deleting the dental?
If you want to add one later, we have www.goldenrule.com .. It's very good .. about $35 a month.

Since I dont have a 'natural' tooth in my head,,,what would you ever SEE a dentist for???
They dont pay a dime on dentures etc so what do I need it for?
Thinking its like 12 bucks a month so it would be a throw away in my mind.
I realize its called 'open enrollment',,,,but unopen to dropping another matter. Never heard of being locked into a plan of any sort.
Payroll deductions,,,,they have it made.

I am in a group dental plan through the Federal Government, so it is a large plan with a well-known company.
The only time we are allowed to cancel our dental coverage is during the annual Open Season. It clearly says that in the benefits brochure.

Hi Just Don,
They are correct. You can only add or drop during open enrollmnet (usually once a year)
That is to keep people from jumping on and off as they need to use the benefits.
It is definitely in your fine print, somewhere in the paperwork you got from the company.
How did you get on it to begin with?

Please help! I am desperate! I been sick ever since I had my son who is now four. It began with mild nausea. Since then I have been through a ton of tests and things for ally issues. My main problems are gut related and nothing is helping. I tested positive for Lyme but so far the antibiotics aren't doing a thing. I get neck pain, nausea, reflux, palpitations, high Bp, chills , low grade fever, fatigue, eye floaters, headaches (feels sinusy), go number two several times a day, lower left quadrant pain, severe sweating, anxiety, head pressure behind ears, pass out feeling. I've had so many tests no drs hv been able to help. Help!!!!

Me again. I'm just wanting to know if Lyme can cause all these severe gut problems. I am bed ridden. I been taking gut supplements and probiotics.

Messa....if you are able start a post just for your concerns to get answers.
You might want to post it under medical
Be sure and click on the box at the end to let you know when you have answers.
I forgot to do that when I first started and medical posts get lost as there are so many

I have't seen a dentist in years. When i first came down sick I thought while I am off work I will go in to see a dentist so I don't have to take time off work once i got well.
that was back in 2001. The dentist would not treat me. He said it would be better if I found out what was wrong first...I had shortness of breath when I was there, a bad attitude, I could not read the form to fill it out, the room full of people with the TV going was way too much and it was hot
So, it is good to know that there is a plan I can purchase if I do need dental work. For now, I would just like to go in and have a check up.
Not sure how much that would be. Most of the dental offices here are having trouble having enough business
