The list is a lot longer than that, but I don't remember all the names.

Amy Tan
Jamie Sigler
Who was that actress in Sisters of the Ya-Ya... or whatever it was called. She had Lyme.

It's a shame they don't publicly talk about it-

How it is treated by cash only specialized Dr.s, trouble they had getting final dx, the government inability to recognize it truthfully,

at least tick prevention!

I would think the ONLY good thing of fame (besides the $, of course)

would be to do some good- be listened to.

*Besides Darl Hall being truthful- and I guess it is a little something Stiller mentioned it on Letterman. Still.

Hey there <<<<< Lyme Family >>>>>,

The reason I have a Lyme and Co's Dx is because of Rebecca Wells.

Before Harper Collins Publishing shut our Ya Ya family chat board down[over 10,000 of us, from at least 7 countries], in 2007 [I believe it was],Rebecca told us of her struggles w/ the LD .

I was given the info' Link to this board LymeNet and encouraged to find out if Lyme and Co's were indeed what was making me ill.It was the reason and that's how I came to be here on this board.

I am thankful Rebecca Wells was willing to speak to us abut the struggles. The last info' I had, was that Ms. Wells husband was also ill. Haven't heard much of late.

Some days I barely make it here to LymeNet even,so TxCoord has been keeping up w/ our various Ya Yas and Yahoos on FB.

I believe Trevor Bayne from NASCAR has also had to battle LD...

Just taking a minute to say hey... we've both been hit w/ an intestinal virus here , our poor puppy dogs have it too. No one has felt like eating [a challenge when needing to take meds].

Jus' Silverwolfi mostly out of steam right now.

Bush has it and still here we all sit???

You'd think if anybody could get the balls rolling on this and get so many help he could..

I hope the man in NY/Long Island found help..

It just a crazy mess..

Daryl Hall is resigned to always having it...

Yes, Rebecca Wells' now ex-husband also has Lyme. They live (separately) nearby. I haven't seen either one in over a year, so I don't know how they are doing.

It's a mess for sure but Bush? How do we know that?

He had a rash on his face once and took precautionary antiobiotics, according to an old newspaper. People saying he has Lyme Disease could be grasping.

I don't know- his word scrambles and mispronunciation is awful familiar....

Can't post a link, but googled George Bush and Lyme disease.

Bush's annual health report released in 2007 said he had been treated for Lyme disease in August 2006. (released to public)
Wormser said: He has been treated, we do not expect any problems.

On the ranch a lot.

To your list you can add two paralplegic athletes from the UK, Victoria Arlen and Mel Clarke, who competed in the Paralympics. Both were paralysed by Lyme.

They featured a few days ago in an article in The Times by Angela Howard.

Unfortunately The Times edited much info out of the original, including info about the petition by Denise Longman handed into our Prime Minister's residence. Yet they found space to add instead a great deal of misinformation based on flawed guidelines of our HPA (Health Protection Agency).

She won a Bronze medal at the Beijing Paralympics in 2008. Mel was also World Champion in 2005 and was the first disabled athlete in Europe to represent GB on international trips as an able-bodied athlete.

Mel was one of the best Archers in her discipline, representing Britain at numerous World Championships, when in 2003 she contracted Lyme disease from a tick bite.
