Hi guys, please help? We paid out of pocket for antibiotics (and still do) for Lyme for years(enough to make our tax man go white). We now take THOSE to Costco pharmacy and still pay out of pocket for the antibiotics.

BUT now I have been approved for and receive medicare..>BUT though we know to take our antibiotics to a different pharmacy and pay out of pocket, what about the fluconazole, Nystatin, B-12 shots, etc. I have lots of Meds for symptoms but from Lyme doc in another state. Will it draw scrutiny to my LymeMD if I use my medicare and Walgreens for meds that are not antibiotics from Lyme doc?

I wouldn't worry about it. Most companies would never put that particular 2 and 2 together.

I bought everything I needed and never looked back.

I have everything, from a Dr out of state, filled at the CVS down the street...no problem.

Thankfully, Medicare is used to having members with lots of health problems, so I don't think they care to look any further. The pharmacy only cares that the claims get paid.

Once Obamacare is in, everything will be an open book. It will ALL be on computer. No more of this going to two clinics or two doctors to get more doxy or anything else.

HOLY Crap! Then we're sunk, no??? What's it TO them if I'm paying when I take my Abx to a diff pharmacy? I hope to GOD that never happens. This could be the end of me, as three years in and I STILL have an intractible UTI that resurfaces every SINGLE time I stop abx. I already HAVE stage II renal failure (why I got medicare immediately with SSDI --yipee) from infection damage before I got help.

Thank you so much for helping. I think ...and HOPE like HECK that I'm right...that pharmacies won't want the micromanaging from the feds, as this could mean a drop in their business. Especially in MY case, cuz I'll get full on renal failure.

I'm not sure about the pharmacies all being connected, but any doctors' appointments with any and all doctors would be.

No politics please. I am FOR helping those without health insurance get coverage.

That being said......WARNING!

I went to a new cardiologist yesterday. I had NEVER been to that office in my life. They were connected to a pharmacy system and had EVERY SINGLE Rx I have had filled on their computer system....all of the weird stuff that's hard to explain to a non-LLMD, like Malarone, Valtrex, Bicillin and on and on.

They say it's to prevent narcotic overuse (ie. pain pills)...but I had no pain killer Rx's and they still had all of my info.

I felt violated.

That is creepy, LAX mom. I would feel violated too.

I think this is all just the beginning....
