I recommend both books highly.

The first one is called "To Heaven and Back" by Mary C Neal, MD.

It is a true story about an orthopedic surgeon who drowned in a kayaking accident, went to Heaven and then was revived.

It contains some incredible details such as the reasons she was given that she had to "go back", and what she experienced while in Heaven.

It is very comforting and contains great life lessons.

I also recently read "Embraced by the Light" by Betty J Eadie. That book was also excellent.

Betty shares incredible details about what she saw and experienced in Heaven when she died and then came back after surgery.

In fact, there is so much detail in Betty's book that I am reading it for the third time so I can try to take it all in.

Both books are very comforting and hope-filled.

Dr Neal's story is really great.

I saw her on the 700 Club a couple weeks ago telling her story, but there is so much more in the book, so I'm glad I got it.

Was the part about the rock in the river in the story you read?

Psalm 19:1-14 NLT

The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word;

their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
and their words to all the world.
God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding.
It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. The sun rises at one end of the heavens
and follows its course to the other end.
Nothing can hide from its heat. The instructions of the LORD are perfect,
reviving the soul.
The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy,
making wise the simple. The commandments of the LORD are right,
bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are clear,
giving insight for living. Reverence for the LORD is pure,
lasting forever.
The laws of the LORD are true;
each one is fair. They are more desirable than gold,
even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey,
even honey dripping from the comb. They are a warning to your servant,
a great reward for those who obey them. How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart?
Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins!
Don't let them control me.
Then I will be free of guilt
and innocent of great sin. May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing to you,
O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. Good will to all...

There is also a book, I think it's called "Heaven is Real" or "Heaven is for real"?

It's about a little boy who died and came back telling his folks about heaven, Jesus, and stuff. It's really good too. I have the e book version.

He was really small when this happened and his dad is a preacher. After several incidents of the boy describing heaven, what Jesus had said, etc. they began to believe that he really did go to heaven. He saw his grandpa whom he had never met. Great story!

I agree, twicebitten and Lymetoo, I loved "Heaven is for Real" by Todd Burpo (Colton's father). Colton was only 3 yrs 10 months old when he went to Heaven and back...a very fascinating story.

It also comes in a version for children.

Agreed also..."90 Minutes in Heaven" was also good...as well as "The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven" by Kevin and Alex Malarkey.

The difference for me was in the details. All of these books were amazing and astonishing.

"Embraced by the Light" has the most adult-like detail that I have ever read.

On my list of books to read is "Proof of Heaven" by Eben Alexander. I heard it is also very good.

I just picked up "Encountering Heaven and the Afterlife" and "Angels, Miracles, and Heavenly Encounters".

I have been finding alot of these books at Ollies, a discount store. I have paid $5 or less for most of them.

I found "Embraced by the Light" at a yard sale. [woohoo]
