Makes me want to puke. [puke] He actually laughed at me after I made a reference to the bunch at Plumb Island who blew the lid off because they were playing around with LD in their labs for bio warfare. [rant] He kept saying "those conspiracy theorists" like I'm lumped into a category of "less-thans". I told him to read Cure Unknown. Of course, he won't. [Frown]

The whole thing is, that it all fits perfectly in the puzzle once you read the information on the whole story. It's like putting the puzzle pieces together, one by one, and they all fall into place. Not saying LD was created at the lab. They were playing around with it. Period. [Mad]

He said "where's the proof". I told him I'd seen copies of documents that LD was being tested there. We all know it was a security breech. I refuse to let him shame me.....he will see. We are not crazy! [shake]

I used to go through similar stuff with my sister. Then one day, I decided to take my power back by telling her this is what I AM EXPERIENCING and it's not for you to judge or tell me what I am feeling.

Then next time she brought "Lyme Disease" up, I said, it's not open for discussion. This put me back in the drivers seat because she had no response. Shut her right up.

Most of us on here have had similar experiences with family. You will never convince them about most things Lyme, so don't frustrate yourself trying.

The next time your brother brings this up again, just tell him it's not open for discussion, even if he tries to goat you into it, stand your ground. It will empower you, I promise.

I agree with Gael. I could not convince, thru any means, a couple of family members that Lyme is real.
I was so sick, and it didn't help me to get upset.

Smile, thank them for their input and let it go.

Sorry you have to go thru this, not fun.

Just tell him to google image search "plum island monster".

Now, for me the jury is still out on the bioengineering of Lyme disease- but signs certainly point to it as a real possibility.

Obviously, if large animals are "escaping" from that place, it would not take anything for something as small as a tick or infected bird to get out!

Also, Jesse Ventura did a show on this on TruTv

Thanks guys. He does believe in Lyme, naturally, but the whole "conspiracy theory" thing is what he's mocking. He hasn't brought it up again. He tends to believe what the bureaucracy says "they wouldn't approve it if it hurt you" or other crap like that. Even if he got a big fat bulls eye, he'd probably go to his MD and do just what he says & take the standard dose, then forget about it. Until he gets sick a year later!

Another good read is Lab 257.

Hang in there!!

Well "Cure Unknown" is experience based book and gets into science but doesn't get into conspiracy theories like Plum Island.

If he reads it, he will learn a lot about the Lyme nightmare but no conspiracy theories.

I agree - the Lab57 book goes into it -

I read both Lab 257 & Cure Unknown. Excellent resources. Wish he'd take the time to read them.

For what it's worth, I know exactly how you feel. This is just as hard to take as the disease itself.

Take care and try to have a Merry Christmas.

Sometimes it's best not to convince any one , one day the truth will come out. Right now the main thing is to heal and get better .

How do you think it feels when your HUSBAND does all this to you?

just letting you know..i have been there and i learned to let it go....dwelling on it hurt me too much

It would be terrible to have my husband do this. Thankfully, he believed everything. I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm not looking for other's approval. I don't need it.

It is hard enough for most non-lyme people to understand what is going on, just about diagnosis and treatment. When you throw in Plum Island suspicions, it is over the top for them. So, IMO it is better to leave out Plum because it isn't a sure thing, and it puts you out on a limb. Convincing anyone that this might be true will not improve your chances about being understood for the real illness you have. That is the most important thing. Some people can't even get that from friends and relatives.
