So much better than I had been, but after a few months, I realized that I still got achy after doing too much, and got tired easily, and still feel that way 9 months later. After the holidays, felt worse and contacted my LLMD who is putting me back on Plaquanil and Azithro.So frustrating! I am much better, but not it's obviously not completely gone. I'm worried that the treatment will throw me back into full blown. Any one out there had similar experience?

Yes, Lyme is a relapsing illness. It can hide in cyst form and re-emerge. I think it's called treating everytime it starts up again.
You could also investigate which supplements to take to keep your body in the best shape possible re immune system and nutrition, as well as eat a good diet. There's a new book out, by Dr Nicola McFadzean, "The Lyme Diet."

I have never gotten rid of lyme. I have learned to manage it. If I ever start thinking it is gone I am in denial and big trouble because I have to constantly take care of my fragile health.
I had a major decline a few months after stopping ABX. I sometimes forget about this illness and let up on my herbal treatment. I just slowly decline and have to go through the herx all over again. I find it is better to maintain my treatment.
I do hope you feel better soon.

heather, great point....you've learned to manage it. Best way to look at it especially if you've been through all the abx tx, LLMD advice, and have a good PCP to look over your overall health.
sbou, you can get ahead of it again and knock it back down. Maybe this time don't take your eye off the illness. Go after keeping it tied down as much as possible.

Thank you all for this. I think my approach may be to first try the herbal treatments and see if there's any improvement before jumping right back in to the ABX. Also, stick to the anti-inflammation diet. Nice to know I'm not alone - but wish no one had to deal w/this!

I would look into treating for parasites/worms with an herbal cleanse such as Parastroy and salt/c.
Parasites/worms are an often undiagnosed co-infection and play a major part in Lyme disease and can be a cause for feeling chronically ill.

I can so sympathize. I had a great LLMD (ND) in Montana and I went from almost bedridden back to walking 5k's and being mentally "with it". We moved to Washington last year and I stopped treatment.
In the last 6 months I have slowly gone downhill, until the last couple of weeks, when it has all snowballed and I feel almost as bad as before treatment.
