I am trying to stay gf but one of my favorite recipes calls for cream of mushroom soup. I have always used campbells but last time I tried an organic gluten free kind and it was not good.

It had a watery consistency and very little flavor which is the opposite of what I want.

Anybody know a good gluten free cream of mushroom soup?

Use fresh mushrooms, could even be sauted in white wine. That will really help with some flavor.

Tapicoa Flour can be used as thickener. Guar Gum, too. Almond Milk - maybe a pureed tofu paste?

Onions or Shallots for richness of flavor and some substance.

If you have a link to the recipe or tell me what you are trying to make, I'll see if I can offer ideas. I'll check back later - gotta get a shower.

Did you cross search the gluten-free sites?

Not sure of that brand but you can find the label online to check.

To help you sort out if ingredents are safe - beyond gluten, see below. MSG is often included but under a different name. Just be sure to avoid it at all costs:

Excitotoxins; MSG; Aspartame; & "Natural" Flavors

"Hidden Sources" of Gluten here, Diary considerations here, too.

Wow, journeys! That is good to know. I wish I could eat dairy! Then I'd be all set!

Cream of mushroom soups in cooking is one thing I've really really missed!

I have a recipe to make your own but it's VERY INVOLVED. Then what do you do with all of it?

Christina Cooks - likely will have a vegan mushroom soup recipe & organic. She uses Almond Milk in many of her dishes. Excellent site / show that is on PBS.

Yeah, if it wasn't such a booger of a recipe. I'm a lazy cook. Right now I can't have mushrooms anyway.

Ain't much right now! Vegetables, vegetables and then protein.
