I'm wanting to start juicing. I've had some great whole fruit/veggie juices at a place called jamba juice. It seems they add ice and I think the pulp is included. Anyone have a juicer they love?

I have the Omega 8003 juicer. It's a masticating juicer that moves at a slower speed which better preserves the enzymes. Easy to clean. I've had it for 2 years now and still like it.

Do "juicers" just pull the juice from the fruits and veggies or do some blend the whole foods up? Which is better? I had a few juices (like smoothies) at jamba juice and loved them. I'd like to make them like that. I have points on credit card and they offer hamilton beach big mouth and jack lalanne juicers. I'm too sick to research them right now!

Some retain the pulp, some do not.
I use my blender way more than I used my juicer. I needed the fiber.

OK...so a good blender would be the better bet? What's a good brand, anyone? Lymetoo, does your blender blend veggies as hard as carrots? I had a carrot smoothie and loved it at Jamba Juice.

It probably would. I hate to stress it though. If you can afford it, get a Vitamix. It can do ANYTHING. Try ebay.
I have a Cuisinart that duals as a food processor. It has an attachment. I paid about $100 for it. It's really nice.
Maybe I'll chop up a carrot tomorrow and see how it does!

So, its hot out and I want to put ice in the juicer/blender thing. Do any of them do well with ice? I had an older Oster that just made the ice cubes round. I thought it might have to do with power and see thing like 'watts' on labels, but maybe I need something with 'horsepower'. Opinions?

How many cubes are you going to run, Otter? I've been putting about 4 cubes in my smoothies and it's fine. If you let them melt a bit.. even putting it on "stir" they will just melt.
The smoothie does taste better cold!

Nutribullet is awesome! Small, I hate clutter on my kitchen counters, and inexpensive. Around $100.00
Pulverizes everything. Has a few different blades.

I have the vitamix. Totally awesome-can do anything, ice, carrots, nut butter--including flour with the dry container. I make lots of soups and smoothies with it.
I also have the nutri bullet. Also, very good though it's more of a single server. It will take care of frozen fruits. Haven't tried ice yet but it's supposed to pulverize that as well. Nice thing about this is that it's portable and less expensive.
Bed, Bath, and Beyond carries them if you get those direct mail coupons. I got mine from Kohl's just recently which I believe is still running a 15% off deal for father's day plus free delivery.
My juicer just extracts juice and I do like fiber so I tend to make smoothies with either the vitamix or nutri bullet.

I'm not trying to make a sno-cone, but occasionally I like to throw in some frozen fruit with a little
bit of stevia and make more of a slushy. In the past, with the old Oster, I'd put in a few cubes
with milk and ice cream-- cut down on ice cream and thickened the milk if you put in a couple of ice
cubes instead. So, not interested in shaved ice, just want something that can do ice without
damaging the blades.

I bought a Blendtec last yesr. I hadnt had a blender in years after burning up 3 blenders in as many years while making margaritas. I was determined to get one that will last through making smoothies so that I can make margaritas every now and then once I'm well.
