my sister works at a outpatient hospital thingy in ohio. in order to not pay for obamacare, they have fired all the part time workers.

they have reduced overtime to 0 and told full time people in order to get 80 hours work, they have to use their annual or sick leave, otherwise they won't get 80 hours, or 40 per week.

they won't pay the 40 per week because then they have to pay benefits. so if you are cut below 40 hours and want to get paid then you use your holiday pay.

problem---if you have no holiday pay then viola!! you're below 40 hours and they won't pay any benefits. eventually people run out of sick or annual leave to get the 40 hours per week.

make sense???

she has severe health problems, ra and i'm sure lyme. she has two more years to work, can't live on disability cause her medical bills are huge.

she's in a world of hurt and nothing anybody can do.

wow...companies are doing wierd things to not pay obamacare....

Maybe the Ceo's should take a pay cut so.hard working people wouldn't have to worry about health care and wouldn't have to die poor. Something is very wrong here.

So what will happen to HER hours?

that's why we're concerned. when she has dr's appts or something she has to use her sick leave or annual leave. and she has chemo treatments once a month on some fridays, so she uses leave for that.

if she runs out of sick or annual and she doesn't have much, she will go below the 40 hours per week and have no health coverage.

unbelievable. just freaking unbelievable.

she said basically people will get NO vacations because they will have to use vacation time to round them up to get 40 hours per week.

all because they don't want to pay health insurance.
