Yes, a neighbor asked me today what I do all day...??? Well, not only do I have Lyme disease and have to rest several hours a day (which no one other than those who have suffered from such an illness understand!!) but I also lost my son in an accident three months ago!!! How can anyone be so damn awful insensitive???

Oh, how sad! You need time to grieve.
Re your first question, what I do depends on how I'm doing, so activities should match what we're able to do.

So terribly sorry for your loss. How rude and insensitive of your neighbor. Perhaps they should have asked what they can do to help you.
Quite frankly, it is none of their business what you do all day and you own them no explanation.
Best wishes to you....

That is incredibly insensitive of your neighbour to ask you that.
A question like that seems like a passive-aggressive comment to me.
Well...what does your neighbour do all day? What does anybody do all day?
It doesn't matter how I phrase it, unless that question is coming from a five year old, it is an inappropriate question.
I mean, who even asks that?! How rude!
If I had a transporter machine, I'd zip down to where you are and tear a strip off your neighbour-from top to toes!
And I'd bring you some flowers and make you some low carb lasagna. I am so sorry for the loss of your son Posted by surprise (Member # 34987) on :
I'm so sorry for the loss of your son, too-- Good thoughts and God bless---

What??!!!!
People are clueless. And alarmingly insensitive.
I've been on the receiving end of plenty thinly-veiled hostility since my diagnosis. But this is a new low.
Try to put this out of your mind. And take good care of yourself. You are ill and grieving and deserve support.
Sending a cyber-casserole.

What a rude and insensitive remark, especially with the loss of your son! I am so sorry. I can't imagine going through such a tragic loss, esp. while sick with Lyme. I hope you are doing okay.
I remember how offended I was when a relative asked me this years ago when I was a stay at home mom. I knew she had no clue how busy and full my days were and I felt it was a passive aggressive remark as well.
Sending hugs your way. Posted by lpkayak (Member # 5230) on :

So sorry! This person is obviously very rude and insensitive. If you felt up to it you could say the exact statement you wrote here. Boy would that put her in her place.
