What really causes heart disease? Systemic (bodywide) infection.
Systemic tick borne infection causes inflammation and magnesium deficit throughout the body.
The magnesium deficit means that the cells cannot function properly, and the body pulls calcium from the bones to compensate.
The excess calcium in the bloodstream causes problems....the blood vessels in the heart calcify, causing heart disease.
The blood vessels in the brain begin to calcify, causing "hardening of the arteries" and mental decline, which most people think is just old age.
Heck, even Otzi the Ice Man, who lived 5000 years ago, had heart disease. I don't think he was eating processed foods.

He was probably not eating processed foods, Carol, but I've heard he was found to have Lyme.

- Indeed, Dear Otzi had lyme in his bones. He likely had a lot of stress, too. He was murdered so likely that did not come just out of the blue and may have been "bullied" or the like for a while.
My own theory is that, since he had lyme, maybe he could not do his share of the work and his companions got tired of caring his weight. But, at the end, he did climb up to a great highth (sp?) in the mountains before he was killed. I'd never be able to do that!
Still, we have different stressors today but, for a body with lyme, the lack of ability to handle stress can go hand in hand with inflammation, too.
In addition to foods that cause inflammation, chronic infection can also stress the heart (therefore best food choices are even more important.
