I just filled script for DOXY Hyclate, 100mg. caps for Q = 60 was copay of $10.00 at mail-in pharmacy. I don't know why it's Doxy Hyclate when it used to be just Doxy. I don't know what part my insurance paid but it couldn't be over $50-$60 as my part is usually 20%.

Corporations are not just screwing us for drug prices.
Mega corporations control much of FDA and CDC policy. Just look at the bull**** of the IDSA. etc.

Same with biologic drugs for RA, Psoriasis, etc. My first infusion of Remicade in 2002 was $8,000 done in the doctor's office. Given every 6 weeks. My doctor gave me years of it although I was getting worse. I asked him if I could have Lyme and he became belligerent and yelled, "It's the nature of your disease". No wonder we can't get well.

One of the few negatives of free enterprise. You'd think the government would step in and intercede when it comes to life/death drugs, instead they stepped in and asked drug companies how they could assist in making them more money.

Yea, I mean, the government is comprised of regular people. And most of them are there for money/'power'. Not surprising.
Undiagnosed chronic lyme patient goes to Infectious Disease "EXPERT". After not that long he says "Looks like MS. I recommend you get a wheelchair and get ready to spend the rest of your life in it".
Because if a doctor (a word that actually apparently means god in case you didnt know) does not understand something, then it cannot be real.

Ain't simply the "corporations giving you the finger", Groovy! There's a lot of supply & demand at play here, too. Docs & patients alike are wising up to the fact that "more [doxycycline] taken earlier" is the best way to approach early stage Lyme.
And having a couple of the drug co's that produced "doxy" close down that particular production line sure didn't help. -----------------

According to my pharmacist friend in Manchester (NH), they SAY the availability & the cost will be much "better" come Spring 2014. We'll see!
