I'm not complaining I'm enjoying sharing this fun experience.
I believe I mentioned about the new furry child Maggie. She is a rescue cat. She's been spayed and has all her shots. She's a year old. I was so excited to bring home a new friend for my 12 year old Saber Boy. Saber is a widower. He's always had a mate his whole he's never been alone never.
Hence the reason Maggie. He's been hissing at her which is rare for him. Unless he's at the Vet Dr. Anyway back to my matchmaking. He has aloud her smell his nose briefly then he hisses. And I say Saber be nice she's your new Maggie.
I know they will soon become buddies. Maybe with in a few weeks. And now day 2. Saber often sits up on my chair with me, and Maggie took that as an invitation. Saber let her know that she was not to be on my lap just because he was. So they both got down.
Then Maggie returned to my lap purring real loud and loving it. She's a very loving cat. I wish I could describe her markings. I've never seen a cat with these color design. In a way she black with swirly grey stripes that are about an in wide. One actually enhances her hips. Striped legs then grey socks feet.
Anyway maybe I can email it in to a cat magazine. And so far today it kinda quiet right now. Maggie is hiding and sleeping some where. And Saber in laying on a heating pad thats wrapped in a towel on the floor. He had old bones and it been very cold here. He's lays on one side then he turns over and gets his other side warm. Pretty smart I think.
Well it's almost noon her. I better try and get dishes watched. And then all the paper work. I know I'm not the only one who has tons of Dr bills and other monthly bills. I have a lot of shredding to do.
I'll keep you updated about Saber and Maggie. And always in need of advice about the matchmaking successful. It's a short story but fun to txt about. Posted by Annie C (Member # 14) on :
Update.Maggie had been laying on my lap since last post. And Saber is still laying on the heating pad one side and the other side. The two of them are less than 3 feet apart. They are aware of each others location.
Very quiet and I'm watching a Click Flick. My time here is 1:23 pm. Nice Kitty Nice Kitty Purr Purr Purr Maggie is very paws on and she aloud my Hands just rubbin scratch median pressure and also her forehead rough rubbing. And We've Lovingly forehead rubbin and very mild knocking.
I didn't know if it's Head-button but fun. I've had her less than 24 hours She Miss Maggie is Home. I need to find the one that said "I'm Hooked already. Meaning ya she ain't goin noneware. " I aren't Dumb and I'm not Stupid Too"

That's great Annie! I loved to read about them! You could write to a cat magazine. You're very good!
My boy likes the heating blanket on the cold days too. He's 11 but a skinny guy, no insulation.

Hi Annie,
It sounds like their actually doing really well for only a couple days.
Saber needs to establish his dominance because he was there first. It's totally natural for him to his at a new kitty. Let him hiss, it's okay, they need to communicate who's boss (and believe me, the pants can switch back and forth). The hissing will calm when he feels more secure.
Cats (even when they're fixed) do a mating ritual which involve hissing (they don't mate, it's just part of their communication).
When a pair I had first did that I thought they were fighting. Nope. They tumbled around for awhile and then wound up sleeping cuddled up with each other.
I've had to match make twice and it can take weeks or even months for the kitties to warm up to each other.
I use to rub catnip on both of them. That helped.
One couple who took several months and finally fell in love with each other. They would sleep cuddled up every where and were inseparable.

Day 4. I'm not sure if I'm replacing an old love. Or a new love. This cat is truly has a color of her hair. She's unique in that area.
And I might take her back to the shelter. I was told she's a year old. And she was briefly owned by a lady that said she could not get her do things and not able to stop her from bad things.
It's time for the spray water bottle.

Nice to read something other than Lyme. And I too am a cat lover! I have two, mine and my daughter brought her cat home. My cat was not thrilled with his arrival but after the customary hissing/fighting they coexist.
Good luck with your new kitty.

My cat the ****, used to hold down harley, the russian blue, with her paws and wash his face. He would get so mad. You could just see him saying "I'll get you later, you sack of crap"....
They are such good company...
