Last night they reported on 3 bad things about them and one of the things was health and safety problems

I know i watch abc news cuz that is our local channel but i dont know if it was local news or national

I wish someone could post the link

Other problems were expense...they are supposed to save money but dont

And something about two-way...they get more info than just howmuch elec you use

Kinda ounds like big brother...but im old a lot of things are starting to freak me out cuz i dont understand them

But it sounds like ammo for fighting them

I really think smartmeters are about health...maybe it could stay in medical long enough for someone to help me find the link

I agree smart meters are about health.

They are also about being watched. The company can tell when and what appliances you use including any health items you plug in ( like for sleep apnea). They can also tell when you are not home.

My fear is they will sell their info or their sites can be easily hacked.

However, my main concern is the health issue.

I think the purpose of those things is reduce the number of people they hire--meter readers now a dying breed.

Again, not able to read what others wrote.

But, my bill went from $25 a month to $60 a month when they installed the smart meters.

Ugg

It went down $20 last month so $40..but still not a happy camper.

We are still being charged for reading meters on the bill.

The director of StopSmartMeters.Org has had his electricity cut even though his bill payments were up to date because he protested the fees levied against him for refusing a smart meter.

http://stopsmartmeters.org/2014/02/12/ssm-director-josh-hart-threatened-with-electricity-disconnect/

and then they have disconnected him:

So smart meters will be forced on you or you will pay a penalty to not have one if you don't submit.

People tried to fight against smart meters in the Chicago suburbs, but lost. I don't think we have an opt out policy here in Illinois, so I am a bit worried.
