Update #2

Had a meeting this a.m. with the lawyer I was referred to. They are having nurses who are employed by their law firm review the medical records. Will decide in the next 5 or 10 days whether or not to take the case.

Please continue to pray that I find a lawyer willing to get involved.

The more I learn the more I am flabbergasted by the laws regarding medical malpractice and wrongful death lawsuits.

Update #1

The lawyer I consulted has decided not to take my case. He says he is 100 percent convinced that Steve did die from babesia, but the time before the statute runs out is too short for him to prepare the case.

He gave me a lead on one more attorney I will talk to Monday.

Please pray that this next attorney is the one.

This is pretty much the last option I think.

The power of prayer and a thank you are working.

I sent the lawyer an email thanking him for his help and he wrote me back today. He has spoken with the law firm he suggested I contact and asked if it was ok to forward the info I had already sent him.

Hopefully, since he made the contact directly that will get me on the inside track.

Keep the prayers coming.

Keeping you in my prayers. I also have to thank you Bea. The site you provided for attorneys has been very helpful to me.

I've been in contact with attorneys who have been very helpful in a situation I've been battling for nearly 2 1/2 years. I'm making headway.

Praise God! He is AWESOME! [bow]

Appointment scheduled for 10:00 a.m. tomorrow - Tuesday 9/9/14. Hopefully will get the right answer then - but they may decide they need a couple of days to review records before making a decision.

One step at a time.

momindeep - The lawyers want 5 to 10 days to review the medical records before making a decision about whether to accept the case. My meeting was Tuesday 9/9. But they were not optimistic that they would get involved.

Unfortunately the main lawyer the previous lawyer referred me to was unable to attend the meeting. So the one I actually met with was only seeing me because the boss asked them to and they didn't really want to be there. There was also a nurse at the meeting.

I feel there is about a 50/50 chance they will accept the case. In my opinion the case is very strong because the hospital made so many mistakes, but the time until the statute runs out is very short.
