How do I block a number. I have been harrased. Spoke to them about paying when I get a letter in the mail. They said it was just sent out, but they've been calling for a week. Said I would pay. Phone ringing again. Of course, lab bills, despite the insurance we pay significantly into. Damb

No way to block .. UNLESS you call your phone company and see if they can help you.
I have a function on my land line that allows me to block a certain number of callers. I THINK that once you hit that 10 or 12 number, you are finished.
Call and ask.

- I'd inquire with legal channels. If they are harassing you. There may be just one phrase you could say to get them to stop calling.
I would certainly call someone in legal authority about this. And if they leave any voice message, be sure to save it, including a record of the day and time.
It may well be they are out of the bounds of law here. I feel for you. Good luck. -

Then, add your state to the search. You may find someone you could even talk to on Saturday about this.
You might also try the law school nearest to you for a community clinic of sorts.

Call Block

You can use Call Block to automatically block incoming calls using a screening list that you create. Call Block will reject calls from phone numbers that match those on your Call Block list. Your Call Block list is limited to either 6 or 12 numbers, depending on your region.
When a blocked caller reaches your telephone number, they will hear a recording saying you are not presently accepting calls. You can temporarily deactivate Call Block or change your Call Block list at any time.
Calls made to you from outside your local calling area, through operator assistance, or from cell phones and some business phones cannot be blocked.
All calling features are subject to availability and compatibility restrictions.
Before you use Call Block, you must first set up the list of numbers you want to block and then activate Call Block. You can change your Call Block list at any time.
Setting up your Call Block list and activating Call Block
Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
Press *60. Dial 1160 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones. In some areas, you must press 3 to turn Call Block on.
Listen to the voice-recorded instructions for Call Block options. The phone numbers you enter on your Call Block list will be repeated to you.
By following the voice-recorded instructions, you can add the number of the last person who called you, add a new number, or change an existing number on your list. The voice-recorded instructions will also tell you how to add to your list if your list is full.
Temporarily deactivating Call Block
You can turn Call Block off at any time. When Call Block is off, the phone numbers on your Call Block list will be able to telephone you.
Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
Press *80. Dial 1180 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones. In some areas, you must press 3 to turn Call Block off.
How to Block Someone From Calling You on a Landline Service
Nuisance phone calls can be just that, a nuisance. Whether it be constant telemarketing companies phoning to try and sell you something, or if it is international calls doing surveys, you shouldn’t have to put up with it.
Luckily, most phone providers offer a service by which you can block unwanted calls. If the calls you are receiving are threatening, then you may consider taking legal action as harassment is against the law. Contact the police, if you are concerned.

Contact your phone provider and request subscription to call blocking. This may be called "call screening" or "call rejection" in some states by land line phone providers. 2
Dial "*60" on your telephone. You can then enter the phone number to be blocked if you know it and press the "call" button on your phone. This will activate call blocker.

I don't think they told me how to do it correctly! They said when someone called that I wanted to block, to hang up and dial *60.
I wonder if they allow you to block 12 calls PER YEAR?? I thought it was kinda crazy to only allow 12 calls since you can get that many in one week!

The easy and more polite way is when they call, answer the phone and immediately say, ``can you please hold on?`` Don't wait for a response.
Immediately put the phone under a couple of towels or pillows to block your noise in the house, and you from hearing them, and go about your business.
They will eventually get tired of waiting and will move on. Time and results are money to them.
