Does anyone know the best way to find a support group within NYC (Manhattan)? Looking for a group that meets for help and guidance with treating late state / long term Lyme.

You are in luck. One of the best groups ever is right there. I will email the folks and have them contact you. How's that for service?

In the meantime, here is a list of groups in NY that you can review. You'll find the full list for all areas on the top left of your screen in a pile of fall colored leaves.
hey tin...maybe you can email that group and see if they can get the word to the ppl and dogs combing the woods looking for the escaped convicts
are they protecting themselves form ticks? do they even know about ticks and lyme?
others here are worried about the searchers

I wrote to the Sheriff at the Clinton County Office and asked them to please be sure all staff are being diligent about protecting themselves from ticks in that highly endemic area- doing tick checks and using repellents, etc.
Offered to help anyone who had any questions and to provide handout literature if they needed any.
Since it is a multi task force I also called the State Police HQ for Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton and St. Lawrence Counties in NY.
Spoke to a nice officer who assured me the search teams were very aware of the area and the problems with ticks. They are all (and it sounded like they were under orders but he didn't say that specifically) protecting themselves with sprays each day.
And, you are going to like this.... after each shift they are all required to do tick checks on each other. He also said that this is not only for his officers, but for all who are working this detail. Said it was throughout the command.
The officer wanted to thank you for caring and said to assure you they are being very diligent about it. He seemed pleased that someone cared, a peaceful pleased, and appreciated the call. Even said he would remind everyone again.
I told him to be safe and know they were in our prayers.
