15 chopped cloves of garlic a day?

I read this guy's blog who has lyme that swears by eating 5 chopped garlic cloves per day X 3.

Sorry, I cannot remember the site and don't have the link.

Anybody do this?

No, no, no, no . . . please, a million times no.

While garlic can be fabulous, you could burn your mouth, esophagus and a hole in your stomach that way.

Also, the chopping of it destroys allicin the instant air hits it. But there is another way to make this work, perhaps.

IF your stomach and esophagus are in good shape, you might start with ONE clove, whole, cut the rough tips off. Organic, of course.

Then take a small clove or the size easily swallowed, in the middle of a meal,

put that small clove in your mouth and just gently push with your back teeth enough to break the skin (this starts an important enzyme action) but go ahead and swallow before too much of that juice starts coming out.

Use water to swallow like you would a pill. Finish your meal.

See how that goes. If okay, daily for a week or so and then increase to one in middle of meal, twice a day. If okay, for a week or so then, maybe increase to one clove, 3 x day for a week. See how that goes.

some can "do" garlic on an empty stomach, some can't just remember that garlic oil is very strong and has literally burned holes in stomachs. Those with lyme often have compromised gut lining. So be very protective. Food helps.
