If this is not the correct forum for this question, I apologize in advance.

I went to see my new LLD on Monday and am wondering if it is acceptable for me to submit the bill to my insurance company and see if they will pay any portion of it. Or if that is a no no and will cause him an issue.

I always did that .. but who knows these days? You could call the Dr's office and ask. They may say to "fire away!"
