"Relatives of Justina Pelletier, the girl removed from her parents' custody during a fight over her diagnosis, announced their plans Thursday to sue Boston Children's Hospital for malpractice and for violating her civil rights."
Edited to add my comment on the news link "Should have mentioned the battle that people diagnosed with Lyme Disease face because the CDC, Mayo Clinic, and IDSA fight so hard to convince the general population that over 500,000 NEW cases each year is not epidemic - and millions world wide.
The suit is intended to wake up the medical establishment and make them realize they are not "gods" and don't know everything.
This is not about compensation, this is about a battle between 30-40 year old procedures that haven't changed - in spite of scientific evidence.
Picture doctors with their hand over their ears, eyes closed, saying "Lyme? Lalalalalalalalala!!!!"

I hope they take BCH down. Wait, can I say that publicly?
Go for it, Pelletiers!
I just hope and pray she will eventually recover. They REALLY messed her up and they need to change their policies so others are not harmed like she was. It's truly criminal.

Here's a recent story from Virginia where a man with Lyme, who repeatedly told specialists that's what he had, was then misdiagnosed with ALS and missed 2 years of treatment. He is suing and I sure hope he wins!
