This was done in 2009. I wonder if there was much follow-up on this.

I couldn't find any more recent studies of use of MRI to find Lyme disease.

If you scroll down you will find a discussion of the uses of MR I and Lyme disease diagnosis; there are other causes of "white areas" in the brain.

I had a few MRI's over the years for neurologic symptoms. White areas were shown, and did decrease after time and treatment. No way of knowing they had been caused by Lyme disease.

Short of a brain tissue examination for spirochetes, I am not sure there is a way to diagnose Lyme disease by examining the brain.I.

You may be at something worth digging further.

Before I had major symptom, I did a similar finding in a MRI Scan. The neurologist and lab said it was a Lipoma, but maybe it could be related with Lyme?

It was a small one, maybe 6mm.

Does anyone else had a similar finding?
