Wow, cool! I wonder if the treatment for the dog is the same as for us humans, although with a lower dosage, of course. That would be interesting to know for future reference.
I had similar problems years ago, where my platelets and neutrophils were alarmingly low. My hematologist (long story) was so alarmed, he wouldn't let me go away for the weekend, and had me go off all abx, and come in daily for blood tests.
He said if my numbers didn't come up, he was going to hospitalize me. (He was really a good guy). I said, "It's from the infections." When they didn't come up from going off the abx, he finally realized that I was right! He was not anti-Lyme, obviously
But the main culprit was Ehrlichia and Babesia (the latter I still have). But at the time, I had hemolytic anemia (which is different from regular anemia).
