I am new here, and have read much on Lymes or Lyme Disease. I was recently diagnosed, however never saw a tick bite rash. I had symptoms start few months ago. I am my second round of Doxycyclone and I believe I have finally made it through the herx. My Dr is very vague about all this, as in no big deal. He believes this round of antibiotics will knock it out. However, reading others stories and experiences I am hesistant to believe it to be true. This does scare me alot as I want to be there for my children. With the herx stopping does this mean I have potential to be free of Lymes? I have a some weeks left of the antibiotocs.

Not sure where you live in Illinois and sometimes finding a good doctor means traveling.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease (not "Lymes" Disease) and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between - you need to go where they are. At least half of all Lyme patients go out-of-state for proper treatment.
Here is what a well-seasoned Lymenet poster wrote and it really is true:
"This is what I have learned in over 14 years in the Lyme world--the doc is the key. Can't emphasize that enough. The doc is the key to getting rid of this horrendous disease.
Many doctors treat Lyme Disease, but only a FEW know enough to get rid of it for a person. Your job is to find one of those few.
If you can possibly get yourself to a top doc, that is what you want to do. It gets you the best chance to get rid of this horrendous disease."
Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:
When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy them used online.
Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.

Lyme disease and co-infections are one of the most complicated and debilitating disease. So much to learn. LymeNet will try to assist you on your healing journey.
There is so much to learn. You must be your own patient advocate. Mainstream doctors are not trained in Tick Born Infections so a Lyme Litterate Medical Doctor is needed.
If you are looking for a Lyme Disease trained Doctor, these organizations can help you in that direction. They are easy e-mail formats that you fill out and they respond with a LLMD closest to you.

Welcome, Navy Blue!! Lyme can be very difficult to eradicate, so please stay on top of it.
I would want 4-6 weeks of antibiotics MINIMUM. Sometimes we have other illnesses from the one tick bite, so keep that in consideration if you do not feel well after 4-6 weeks of treatment.
Find an LLMD as soon as possible.
