You may be doing cardio rehab, physical therapy with resistance bands, walking, shopping, cleaning...
Whatever your movement tell us about it or just tell us about your day.
Have a week full of sunshine! Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :
No online church today. No heat in the sanctuary, so the service was in the parish hall and they didn’t move the video equipment. So, I listened to a Christian podcast instead.
Often the stimuli of the organ and crowd at church sets off my myoclonic seizures so I rarely attend in person.
Ran a load of laundry.
Rode the exercise bike one mile which is about 5 minutes.
Filled the safflower feeder.
Took recycling to bins at grocery store lot.
Vacuumed the car.
Called mom and chatted.
Am now sitting in the recliner to read.
Defrosted spaghetti sauce for dinner to go over rice noodles and pair with a tossed salad and zucchini.
Illini vs. Nebraska basketball this evening so I will watch that game. Watched a pretty good Hallmark chick flick last night.
Adios for now.

I have to get more exercise, I work and then do housework, but need to start walking again.

Beverly, welcome to the exercise thread.
Just do what you can and don’t feel guilty about it.
Housework definitely counts as exercise and I am sure work wears you down.
Glad I am retired now although oddly I got more exercise when I was working.

Rode the exercise bike 5 minutes. Then did my knee and feet exercises.
Listened to National Cathedral Morning Prayer and a Christian podcast while exercising. Makes the time go faster although I lose count of my reps because I am focused on the audio.
Worked on Bible study.
Wrote a few cards to get in the mail later this week.
Called mom.
Went to therapy at the clinic to work on shoulder and exercises for better posture.
Took the garbage bin to the curb.
Fixing burger, broccoli and tossed salad with carrots and strawberries for dinner. Odd combo but using the fresh produce I have on hand.
Then a reading and little TV.

Wow Hiker, you had a busy day. I wish I was retired, I always feel like I do not have enough time. I think I need an exercise bike or something like that.
I do make time for Bible study tho. Posted by MannaMe (Member # 33330) on :
Baking day. Did the full amount of bread today, a total of 31 loaves. All packed up and ready to go.
Now to get the whoopie pies made.
Did most of the laundry. Hung up the shirts and dresses and dress pants. None of the rest is folded. At least its clean!
Got 35 eggs this evening. Still need to go shut the barns doors to pen the birds and animals up for the night.
Hubby and 2 of the boys went to Bible study tonight.
Supper was soup and some fresh homemade bread with butter & jelly.
Gabbed with my sis-in-law a little this afternoon.
Today was another lovely sunny day. It was cold this morning. The dog's water bucket had ice on it.

Welcome Beverly to the exercise thread!
Yesterday I didn't do much of anything.
Today I did PT for my shoulder, foot and thumb and my usual arm routine.
Shopped for groceries and came home and actually cooked dinner! Baked a boneless, skinless chicken thigh, made boxed rice pilaf and homemade guacamole with multigrain tortilla chips. Had a peanut butter cookie for dessert.
After talking with a friend for almost 2 hours I got cracking on my mother's room.
It was tough and I cried more than I thought I would. Had to rearrange some things then packed up her clothes in the dresser and chest of drawers. Had to do it quickly and not look at things to much.
Have someone coming tomorrow to take her bedroom suite to Josh's.
I moved a chest of drawers and her TV into the office temporarily until the movers get her furniture.
So the plan tomorrow is to move the chest of drawers into her room and hook the TV and Roku back up.
Oh I also took a load of dishes to Goodwill.
I did good today and didn't just sit the recliner.
See everyone tomorrow.

AK—you got a lot done yesterday. Impressive.
For some reason I really struggled with my balance exercises today. Rode the exercise bike 5 minutes.
Did my shoulder exercises and then my feet exercises. Plantar fasciitis is starting to reappear and am trying to nip it in bud.
Listened to Christian podcast and then worked on Bible study.
Spent a lot of time this afternoon researching hearing aids. Have an appointment next week for hearing aid evaluation and want to be able to ask intelligent questions. Filled out the required paperwork for the appointment, too.
Leftovers for dinner and then reading.

Another lovely sunny day!
Washed and dried the last load of table cloths this morning.
Started designing the new island for the kitchen. Hubby wants to make one that fits our needs better with space to store our flour and sugar bins.
Wrote a letter to my cousin.
Went for a walk this afternoon. Tried going up the mountain on the 4wheeler trail, but decided its still too muddy.
Supper was chicken croquettes, gravy, potatoes & peas.
Gabbed on the phone with my nephew awhile this afternoon.

Up early, showered, made coffee and breakfast, did all my PT and arm workout and washed, dried and put away one load of clothes.
Added chopped onion and cilantro to my homemade guacamole and had it with multigrain chips for lunch and a peanut butter cookie for dessert.
The guys picked up the furniture and gave me a very reasonable quote on trimming the neighbor's oak tree limbs and brush pushing on and over my fence. One tree is going to have to be cut down because it's pushing my fence down. That might be separate and will take a chainsaw.
Josh didn't want me to do it so hoping this guy will work out.
Manna I grabbed way to long on the phone with my nephew! Then chatted with another friend. It was time well spent. Those chicken croquettes sound delicious!
Hiker I baled on moving the chest of drawers and tv back into my Mom's room today. There's always tomorrow.
See you guys tomorrow!

AK—my phone was glued to my head yesterday, too. LOL
Manna—home projects are never done. So you are blessed to be able to do so much yourself with the aid of your husband and kids. The kitchen island sounds like a fun but practical project.
I went grocery shopping this morning. Fannie May candy was on sale so treated myself to a box. Will try to savor it.
Did my knee, feet, and shoulder exercises after warming up on the exercise bike. Listened to National Cathedral Morning Prayer and a Christian podcast while exercising.
Tried doing a few balance exercises but am way too toxic again today. Will try again tomorrow.
Worked on Bible study for tomorrow.
Went to the library. Hadn’t been there in 11 days! It was like seeing an old friend.
Called mom. She asked me to order a plant for her friend who has a birthday next week, so took care of that.
Then my college buddy who lives in Florida called and we chatted quite a while.
Took an hour long nap.
Baked a chicken breast to make chicken salad for dinner tonight (and tomorrow night).
Reading tonight. 📖

Wow you all have had busy days, my days are all the same..... work, cook dinner, clean house, pray, read the bible go to bed, sleep.
play with my cat too.

Beverly, your days are busy too!
We had another sunshiny day!
Mixed the chickens feed this morning.
Hard boiled a kettle of eggs.
Got all the seeds out and went through them. Ordered the ones from one company online. Started filling out the catalog order for the rest of the seeds. Dreams of a lovely weed-free garden.........
Folded all the clean wash this afternoon.
Gathered 39 eggs this evening! The most we got so far.
Had one response to the roosters I advertised, but she never got back to me again.
Finished sewing my new dress this evening. Now to start on my Block of the Month quilt patch.
Daughter made supper tonight. Mac n cheese, peas, and BBQ Hamburger.
Hubby sawed up another log this afternoon. The next one in line is the one for a friend.
Sonny came home from work saying he was cold most of the day. He is coughing and has a fever of 99. Gave him a hot drink - water with 2 T vinegar, 2T lemon juice, a dash of cinnamon and another of ginger.
Posted by aklnwlf (Member # 5960) on :
No exercises or PT instead worked on my resume and applied online at a temp agency and one I went to in person.
Before I left I moved the chest of drawers and TV into my Mom's room.
Went shopping for work clothes but didn't really find anything I liked. The things I did like were to expensive.
I'm having a problem with my leg tonight, the one that was injured in a wreck in 2019 that my ex caused. I've had problems with it off and on but tonight I had a really bad cramp in the back of my knee that radiated to the front. Have some swelling there too so am going to the doc tomorrow.
It's always something....
Night friends.
Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :
AK—Hope your leg pain doesn’t last too long.
Beverly, sounds like you keep really busy.
Did a few balance exercises this morning and rode the exercise bike 5 minutes.
Had Bible study with my women’s group.
Went to physical therapy at the clinic. Struggled to walk in with the 45+ mph wind gusts. Therapist put me in a wheelchair and I got a fun ride to my car after the session. So kind of her. She added, yet another shoulder/posture exercise to my regimen but I am determined to gain mobility and strength so I don’t slump so much when I sit.
Had a cup of decaf Java when I got home and threw my sheets in the wash. Now they are in the dryer and I will have to remake the bed if I want to sleep tonight. Not sure why I just didn’t wait until tomorrow morning for this chore.
Leftover chicken salad for dinner and then a bit of TV and reading.
Have a good evening!

Baking day. 31 loaves of bread. Still need to bake the whoopie pies.
Have the third load in the washer. Didn't get started with it very early.
Went out late afternoon and moved the chicken's fence over to include some green areas. They have it down to mostly bare ground in their meadow.
Sonny stayed home today, sore throat and a bit of a cough.
Oldest son cooked supper tonight. He decided chicken noodle soup would be just the thing for his brother! So soup and cheese n crackers.
Posted by aklnwlf (Member # 5960) on :
Manna hope your son feels better soon. I had cheese and crackers and a salad for dinner. Bet your house smelled like heaven with all the bread baking.
Hiker you must be doing alot of PT. Glad to hear you didn't get blown away from all that wind.
Beverly you have your routine down. Playing with your cat sounds fun.
Well I went to the PA and she thinks bursitis so am taking Advil, elevating and icing behind and along the outside of my knee. I think I've been moving too much furniture, boxes and totes around.
Was depressed today that I have to deal with another injury. That's 3 in that leg. Have Morton's neuroma, plantar fasciitis and now bursitis in my knee. So with my shoulder and thumb that's 5 musculoskeletal issues. At least 3 I'm in therapy for and hopefully can work on my knee.
Hope to get better soon with therapy and rest.
Can you guys pray for my friend Linda who I visited in Alaska. She texted me today that she's in the hospital with liver failure. She's my friend that has metastatic cancer. I cried quite a bit. I'm going to try and send some flowers to her room. She's in Wrangell and hope they have a flower service there.
Night my friends.

Am—saying prayers for your friend, Linda.
Manna—Hope Sonny is better. Soup with cheese and crackers sounds good to me.
Today I spent almost 90 minutes with therapy exercises—short exercise bike ride, knee, feet, and shoulder/back exercises.
Went back to the public library and dropped off 2 books and picked up 2 more. My prize for winter reading program was a pair of fuzzy socks.
Sunny and 60 degrees today so may not need the fuzzy socks right away.
Called mom. She was quite chatty.
Worked on Bible study.
Typed up my questions to ask audiologist at hearing aid evaluation appointment next week. They suggested I bring someone with me but right now that isn’t an option.
Took a nap.
Gluten free pizza and salad for dinner.

Mostly cloudy with some sunshine today. Currently 60*.
Took a fork and scooped up some of the hay the goats wasted and threw it into the chicken pen for bedding. They can pick through it and find any seeds to eat.
Swept the barn floor afterwards because of all the dropped hay.
Filled Hubby's pill keeper.
Put 2 letters and checks in the mail.
This afternoon cut out the pieces for my block of the month patches. Have the first one almost finished.
Sonny went to work again today. Feeling much better than yesterday.
Supper was sausage, rice, bbq string beans, carrots and for dessert, ice cream. Vanilla or chocolate peanut butter.
Posted by aklnwlf (Member # 5960) on :
Manna I bought chocolate peanut butter ice cream for Josh when he comes for dinner. Unfortunately I've been eating some in the evening. He has a bit left for tomorrow. Who knew it would be so delicious?
Hiker thank you for praying for Linda. I haven't ordered flowers yet and might call instead to make sure they have some. Was happy to hear your Mom was chatty so she must be feeling better.
I didn't do any PT or exercises. I did spend a few hours online and applied for 4 jobs. I didn't realize it takes awhile to fill out each application and setting up an account for each employer.
Texted my bestie in AK about Linda and she's putting her name on a prayer chain.
Had another can of soup and cheese and crackers for dinner. Couldn't resist the chocolate peanut butter ice cream either.
There's music blaring in my neighborhood and it's almost midnight! Think it's coming from a parking lot across the street that has a strip mall. One of the joys of living in the ghetto.
Guess I'll be up awhile. Night all.
Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :
AK—I remember when a gang used to come to the back parking lot at the Mormon church in my neighborhood at night and blast their music and sell drugs. I can see the parking lot from my bedroom window.
One night I got in the car past midnight and drove over there and told them I lived 6 blocks away (I live less than 2) and if I could hear them I was sure the police would be coming. They shut down so fast and I drove off in the opposite direction of my house. Can’t believe I was so stupid to confront them. They never came back.
I did my balance exercises. Struggled again. Ears constantly popping. Also did my shoulder/posture exercises.
Watched my weekly Beth Moore video.
Then watched Illini basketball in a losing cause to Michigan State. Muted it while I did some cooking.
Filled several bird feeders.
Read a bit.
Meatloaf for dinner. Then I may watch an old movie I have recorded. I still have a ton I recorded last year.

Did more laundry. Got it all folded and put away.
Mixed up more feed for the chickens.
Separated and repotted my African violets. The biggest pot had 7.... yes, 7!! babies in it! I need a second window sill for all the new potted babies.
Put several more sweet potatoes in potting soil to grow slips.
Planted all the fruit seeds I had in paper towels in ziplock baggies in the fridge. We'll see how many actually grow. Apples, pears, apricots, currants, blueberries and raspberries.
Supper was meat and cheese, salad eggs, bread & jelly and applesauce for dessert.
When I went out to take care of the barn chores, I heard the guineas fussing. One was inside the chicken pasture and another was outside calling it. I unplugged the fence charger and lifted the fence for the guinea to come out. They both went into their house right away.
Then went to finish up the chicken chores and in passing saw the one young goat was up in the hay rack to eat the hay! Wonder if she just jumped up in there???? So I went in to chase her out. She just jumped right out again. Crazy goats!
24 eggs tonight.
Put ham in the crockpot for tomorrow's lunch. Peeled sweet potatoes, cut up some carrots to add to the crockpot in the morning along with some greenbeans.
Posted by aklnwlf (Member # 5960) on :
Hiker! I'm surprised you went by yourself after midnight to confront gang members and lived to tell the tale. Keeping your guardian angel busy!
Manna chuckled about the goat Olympics in the barn. Josh and I were just talking the other day about crockpot recipes. My sister (Josh's Mom) bought me a crockpot cookbook that I need to put to use.
Met a friend for lunch at Red Robin then came home and gabbed on the phone with Josh til 4:00. Afterwards I started to get dinner ready for 6:00.
I made cube steak and gravy, instant mashed potatoes, leftover green bean casserole, leftover sweet potatoes and made a generous spinach salad for each of us.
Josh brought two cupcakes which we had with coffee and ice cream.
We watched a Norwegian scary movie and gabbed some more until 11:30.
