Sadly I learned Tom Grier passed away last month. Many of us had read his book on lyme, or knew him from Lyme support groups in MN.

OMG, I literally picked up my phone to call him a few min ago after not speaking to him for some time. Discovered that phone had been disconnected.

I wished that I had called him more often.

He was 69, and did not seem to think he had anymore Lyme or Bartonella. Anyone know if he happened to relapse for any reason, or was this due to natural causes?

I found his obituary.

He was an incredible researcher and worked with Dr. McDonald ?)
on tracing Lyme disease in the brain.

This is from a friend who lives in the Duluth area and was close to him. Word has it he had been having issues with some flare up and heart or EKG block. I think he had been very optimistic when he told you he didn't have them anymore. He was found passed away later since he lived alone. So sad.

When I spoke to him in the past he seemed to think he was cleared of Lyme and co-infections. He did say that he developed a condition called A-Fib of his heart...

"Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is an irregular and often very rapid heart rhythm. An irregular heart rhythm is called an arrhythmia. AFib can lead to blood clots in the heart. The condition also increases the risk of stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications"
