"It is often the small steps not the large steps that bring about the biggest change."--Queen Elizabeth II

Welcome to the exercise thread. We seem to be flying through January.

Let's keep moving about as much as we can and encouraging each other to exercise.

Walking? Shopping? Cleaning? Baking? We count so much more. I may even start counting yelling at ball games on the TV. [Big Grin]

So, tell us about your exercise or just tell us about your day. [woohoo]

Have a great week! [group hug]

I watched my local church service online. Then watched the sermon from the National Cathedral.

Ran a load of laundry. Then cleaned the bathroom and kitchen.

Talked to my mom.

Scraped a little ice off the sidewalk and then went to buy a coffee.

Watched the Illini basketball game while grounding.

Read some.

Plan to read and maybe watch a little TV tonight.

Dinner is leftovers.

Watched church online. Sermon was on watching your tongue & what you say. Good too contemplate and do better at saying positive things.

Took a nap this afternoon.

Wrote a letter to my sister.

Took care of the birds & animals.

The big bird feeder was on the ground and broken this morning. I'm guessing a wind gust blew it down. Will need to either buy or build a new one.

Refilled the little feeder. Will need to check it everyday, since its the only one.

One of the goats wanted to nibble my gloves. She smelled the cookies I had been holding in that hand. I waited to give them their cookies until after I gave them their hay.

Put some extra hay in the dog house to keep him warm tonight.

Supper is leftovers.

I did not do anything today so far

I couldn't sleep until late last night / early morning so I woke up late and need to rest today

I have been looking at ways I can make my new apartment 'healthier'

and watching the tv show hacks

I'm thinking about posting on my social media page that I have C-PTSD

I ate some tahini cookies and will rest now

nature24--welcome to the exercise thread. Hope you will come back and post again soon. And it doesn't matter if you exercise or not.

We just have fun with this thread.

I did my knee and feet exercises. Added a quarter pound ankle cuff on the leg lifts. Am adding in reverse curls, too.

Then rode the exercise bike for 30 minutes.

I had a hankering for eggs for lunch but was out. Dollar General is just a block further than the close grocery and their eggs are half the price as at the grocery, so bought them there. They seemed to be no different.

Called my mom.

Worked on Bible study for a long time while grounding.

Wrote a thank you card to a friend.

Dragged the garbage bin and recycle bin to the curb. The snow has mostly melted now, so the curb is once again free of snow.

I defrosted previously cooked meatloaf for dinner. Am adding asparagus and a romaine lettuce salad.

Reading and some TV tonight.

I survived my endoscopy today and once home slept most of the day.

The Dr did some biopsies so just waiting to hear about those.

My throat is sore and just taking it easy.

Have PT tomorrow which wasn't a good idea scheduling it so soon.

So I'm going to sleep in my bed for the first time in 2 weeks and hope it doesn't flare up my BPPV.

Welcome Nature!

AK--Hope you get the results soon.

I went grocery shopping this morning.

Then did my balance and shoulder exercises. Decided to go ahead and ride the bike for 25 minutes.

Called my mom.

Went to get gas. It had gone up 17 cents per gallon since I checked gas buddy 30 minutes before. Then when I went past later it had gone up another 10 cents. Crazy.

Dropped a book off at the library but didn't go in.

Filled the bird feeders.

Took a short nap.

Read and grounded.

Went to the chiropractor and she released some toxins.

Leftovers for dinner tonight.

Then my usual reading and some TV.

Didn't do a whole lot today.

Had a phone consult with a former pharmacist who now knows nutrition. Hoping to get some help for varicose veins. He asked if I'd ship him some sourdough bread sometime!

One of the boys was home sick with a stomach bug. He did eat a bit of chicken noodle soup for lunch and a little supper. Says he feels a little better.

Hope nobody else gets it.

Took a short nap.

Baked the whoopie pies. Ready to put frosting in them & wrap them up.

Fed & watered the animals & birds early. Just need to go shut the doors & gather the eggs.

Its windy and had gotten warmer today. Up to 52*. Till tomorrow evening they are calling for snow. I'm hoping it waits till the boys are all home from work.

Welcome nature 24!

Even though i didn't feel so hot went to my PT appointment anyways.

Glad I did because still have BPPV symptoms. So after treatment the therapist told me not to look down by moving my head so I'm in a neck brace. Also back in the recliner for sleep.

Just eating leftovers from Saturday and oatmeal.

Talked with Josh and my neighbor on the phone and that sums up my day.

See everyone tomorrow!

hi everyone, thank you for the welcome

I am really enjoying this thread so far

I have been having a lot of issues with my eyes and head so yesterday I went to see someone who did some tests and said I have convergence insufficiency - maybe I could do a thread about this and his recommendations?

today I am researching it

it's my niece birthday so I have wrote a card and got some presents

I am making a plan of my appointment costs for the year

Buying a new bath matt

Looking into micro plastics and how to avoid

Resting because of going out yesterday

Wishing my first cousin once removed a happy birthday also

I hope you have a good day

nature24. We would love to see a thread about convergence insufficiency. I know nothing about it.

Sounds like you were busy yesterday. [Smile]

We had a snow squall this morning. Basically a short blizzard. Still windy, but the snow didn't stick. It will stick tomorrow night.

I had to kick myself to get in gear this morning.

Did my knee and feet exercises (M, W, F) and rode the exercise bike for 30 minutes.

Had to call my Asian friend (born in the United States) and tell her not to make her usual run to Walmart today as ICE was there. We chatted a bit.

Called my mom.

Went and grabbed a coffee.

Washed my flannel sheets and my towels. Remade the bed.

Read and used my grounding mat. The book I just started is due Saturday, so I need to be a reading machine!

Am cooking a chicken breast for dinner. Adding steamed broccoli and a tossed salad.

Then reading and watching Illini basketball against Northwestern.

My grocery order was delivered before I had time to shower get dressed. Thankfully I don't need to go to the door, they let it on the porch.

I do need to bring anything in before the cats find it if its something they might eat! There was a bag of cat food, and she was sitting on it. The cheese was safe!

One thing was missing - the Shoo Goo my son wanted to fix his shoes. So went through the steps to get a refund for it.

Folded a load of table cloths, aprons & pot holders and put them away.

Warmed up the leftover chicken noodle soup for lunch.

Saw the dermatologist this afternoon. Thinks its just eczema and dry skin. Gave a prescription cream & suggested a moisturizing cream for my skin. Said I should see a difference in a week. Sure hope the itchiness eases!

Stopped at the pharmacy to pick up the prescrition. Had to wait in line awhile then mine wasn't ready yet. Had to wait in a longer line the second time.

Got home in plenty of time to make supper: Sweet potatoes, hamburger gravy, green beans, pickles & sourdough bread. Dessert was instant vanilla pudding & bananas.

Its getting windy & the temps are dropping, Down to 37* now. It was in the 50's this afternoon & rainy. Its supposed to be a low of 16* till morning and only get up to 20* tomorrow! BRRRRR!!

When I did chores the guinea who lives with the chickens was outside the pen. I couldn't get him to go in, he was hiding under the hen house. So he's gotta just stay warm under there!

Hopefully I can get him to go in the pasture in the morning when I open the gate, before I let the chickens out.

Need to mix up the sourdough bread yet tonight.

Josh and little Juno stopped by with emergency Mexican fast food for dinner.

I really appreciated it because I'm not really eating well.

I have PT tomorrow for the BPPV and think I might pause them because my side is hurting. I noticed that it was hurting to sit up from the table the last time I was there.

Other than that I've done as little as possible.

Tomorrow I've got to get some laundry done.

See everyone tomorrow!

I had an appointment with psychiatrist this morning

Lyme has affected my mental health and a psychiatrist can prescribe medication

My mum helped me clean my bathroom

I made a follow up appointment for my eye issues

nature24--glad your mom can help out. Please send her across the pond to help us all out! [Big Grin]

AK--Maybe get the BPPV resolved before gallbladder surgery. Hope you are better today.

I zipped back to the grocery. I had a $7 coupon off anything I bought and boneless pork chops were buy one pack of 4 and get two packs free.

I know pork isn't the healthiest, but when you are on a budget, paying $2 for 12 pork chops is a great deal. With all those I may be oinking like a pig soon. [Smile]

Did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Went for a 30 minute walk with trekking poles. It was about 20* but sunny but no wind, so actually quite delightful. I sure bundled up, though.

Filled several bird feeders.

Tonight and tomorrow we will get a bit of snow and high wind gusts.

Called my mom.

Read, texted and grounded this afternoon.

Still aiming to finish the book, "The Tainted Cup" by Saturday when it is due back at the library. Have 150 pages to go.

Leftover chicken with broccoli and lettuce salad again tonight.

And then reading, of course.

Hiker, your pork made me think of the dryer balls a friend gave for my birthday. 4 little pink pig dryer balls. They keep trying to escape! One was missing for a little while. My son found it in his shirt sleeve!

Baking day. 32 loaves of bread.

Got all the laundry washed and dried. Still waiting to be folded.

Filled a care package for the neighbors caring for their aging parents. Loaf of bread, a jar of jelly, freeze dried bananas, a bag of pecans, a tea towel & dish cloth.

Filled the bird feeder.

Snowed about an inch today. The high only reached 21* and its now down to 13*. Was outside after dark and the snow sparkles in the lights. Wish I could get pictures of the beautiful sparkles.

Want to empty & refill the dishwasher with baking dishes.

Did a foot soak with epsom salts with added essential oils. Sat in the chair with the back massager running at the same time.

After using the cream from the dermatologist & the moisturizing cream just for one day, the itchiness has reduced quite a bit! No longer the 'driving me wild' itchiness!

Manna--glad the cream is helping the eczema and dry skin. I have super dry skin, too.

Woke up at 4:45 AM and decided I would shovel the small amount of snow we got overnight. Cleared the back deck, too. Then went back to bed for a couple of hours.

Chance of snow again tonight and tomorrow and getting colder.

I did my knee and feet exercises. Rode the exercise bike a total of 20 minutes.

Chatted with a friend for quite a while. Then called my mom.

Grabbed a cup of coffee and then worked the crossword puzzle in the Washington Post and grounded. Read a bit.

Make a pot of spaghetti sauce. Froze most of it but will have some of the sauce over vegetable noodles and make a tossed salad.

Then watching a recorded show and reading.

My brother called this morning. He was on his way home from Ohio and decided to gab awhile. Made his trip go faster having someone to talk with.

I folded all the clean wash while we gabbed & put it away.

Warmed up lefovers for lunch.

Put supper in the oven. Chicken thighs, potatoes & corn mixed, green beans and cranberry applesauce.

Started sewing a quilt for my son. The pattern is called Its a Snap. Supposed to be quick and easy to do. I don't have the pattern - only a picture of th front of the quilt. Its all square patches so I can make them whatever size I want.

I'm making a twin size quilt and the picture is for a lap quilt. So I need to extend it wider and longer. Which means I can't just count the pieces to know how many to cut. I have the first row sewed together and the second row laid out ready to sew.

Time to stop for tonight. I'm getting too sleepy to sew straight.

Sure enjoyed reading all the posts!

Not feeling good today. Side is hurting and just forced myself to eat a cheese tomato sandwich.

I made stir-fried noodles and baked some brownies for dinner. Josh is coming over but I might have to cut our evening short.

I don't know what in the world possessed me to think I should cook!

Gallbladder surgery is scheduled for February 5th and hoping I can wait that long.

You guys are the best!

[group hug]

Cleared the driveway, sidewalk, porch, and deck of snow this morning. Icy underneath. Wind chills below 0* all day.

Put ice melt down and then when the ice melted and the pavement dried I swept up the ice melt.

Alas, it is snowing again now as I type.

Did my balance exercises.

Ran a load of laundry.

Called my mom. Then made a healthy midday meal of salmon, asparagus and 1/2 baked potato.

Returned the book that was due today to the library but just put it in the drop box and didn't go in. Grabbed a coffee on the way home.

Watched the Illini basketball game. Then read and grounded.

Cleaned the bathroom and kitchen.

I have the NFL play off games on mute now and later this evening.

Repeating last night's meal of spaghetti with homemade sauce over vegetable noodles with a tossed salad.

Then reading with the NFL games on.

AK--Hope you feel better and that the surgery helps!

Manna--would love to see a pic of the quilt when it is done. Sounds like a lot of work but will be rewarding.
