I remember seeing (years ago) a post with a link to someone who had helpful tips for getting approved for disability. Does anyone remember this or know of a link or info? It was very helpful and I wanted to pass it along to someone who could benefit from it.

Some of these are a bit older and some do not mention Lyme, but they may be helpful.
Perhaps consulting an attorney who specializes in SS disability might be helpful if the funds are there.

I thought I should share my disability story with you to offer perspective.
I got myself a very good disability lawyer, their practice is strictly disability. I got denied the 1st time and was devastated. They explained to me that this is the norm and they would file an appeal. They also explained that when I get approved, I would get back pay from the day I originally filed.
My LLMD completed a Residual Functional Capacity (RFC) that addressed all my physical disabilities and limitations. It was precise and detailed as she has been in practice over 35 years.
She charged me for each document she wrote and the time she spent on it. Bummer.
I then took her paperwork to two of my other providers that I chose that would be the most sympathetic to my cause. (I have 7 total specialists). Typical for a Lyme sufferer because main stream doctors all stay in their lane. Hence the medical maze.
These doctors read the synopsis of my LLMD’s assessment. They then wrote VERY similar findings and opinions, almost word for word.
The judge granted me disability.
The judge explained his rulings and conclusions in his 3 page report. The judge AGREED with my 2 specialty mainstream doctors assessments.
BUT The judge singled out my LLMD and DISAGREED with her basic knowledge of scientific fact!
I COULDNT BELIEVE THE JUDGE WROTE THAT! My other doctors COPIED my LLMD’s findings!
Never forget that chronic Lyme disability is not a recognized affliction! At least I got my disability! Yippie! 😁
